Parsloes 1928 nearly
Hmm, think you've posted this in the wrong place! I assume you mean at the NLRC - Armstrong was NOT down to ride in the Silver Ski!

waco
Strong guests should ensure that this final meeting of the season will be highly competitive and no walk over for newly crowned National League Riders Champion Steve Boxall ,,though he will still start as favourite,, Ben Morley 3rd in the under 19 championship of great britain at Coventry on friday night and Benji Compton should also be in the mix for honours,, Not sure if David Mason has recovered enough to ride in this ,we all wish him well ,,,Hopeing all the riders have a good safe final meeting And looking forward to another good year in 2014...
Parsloes 1928 nearly
Absolutely Kasper Lykke was very lively last week. Luke Bowen will be out to show he can come back in earnest next season. Chris Schramm was unlucky with bike troubles at the Laurels and will be a contender. Paul Starke..? Hmm, well under a bit of a cloud at the moment so who knows. Tyson Nelson? Not sure - have only seen him ride once, at Somerset for RH and he had a shocker - so gotta be better than that. Nice to see an rider from New South Wales riding at our track in our nearest meeting to the (barely mentioned as yet) 90th. anniversary of the first meeting put on by the father of our sport and honourary Man of Kent, John S. Hoskins in that Aussie State.
gammy73
Havent been for a while due to work etc, but making sure I make it 2nite!!! Looking forward to a good meeting to bring down the curtain on what will surely be described as a very successful 1st season for the Kings! Dont think anything could of gone better as a whole this season? The team has improved greatly since the start and ended up being near on untouchable at home! we've finished 3rd in the pairs and runners up in the 4TT, and now to top it all we have the national league riders champion!!! Hoping Steve gets a fantastic reception 2nite from everyone as will be fully deserved!
whistlegang
I have emailed David Mason to find out if he is racing tonight. Plenty of riders who could give Steve a run for his money, but my money is on him taking gold again. It will be interesting to see how the Kent riders do against each other. I think Jack Kingston could be our second highest scorer tonight (if his hand is better). He fell in his second race at the NLRC and we could all see him holding his hand in pain. JK Can't bloody wait - I might even have a few beers afterwards in the bar. Whistle gang rule!

I predict that next season Luke Bowen will replace Boxall at Kent (which will break my heart but he is just too good for NL). After the NLRC he is headed for Rye House and surely an opportunity in the EL? Bowen will shine and then he'll also leave for RH! Kelsey Dugard at reserve for the King's next season? waco
Tyson Nelsen is a very fast rider like Boxall, and will no doubt try the wild outside line at Sittingbourne but may not find it as productive as Rye House,, but once he finds the line he will be challenging for the title,, There are some very exciting riders in the line up.. Looking forward to a great finale...
Guest
It was as expected a victory for Steve Boxall. One comment - where is David Mason? From what I gather he may be ill? If so, good wishes to him for a full recovery.
waco
David was at the meeting Gustix but not fit enough to ride,Dissapointingly some of the top riders booked, were not in the meeting for various reasons ,and the meeting was not the best and the winner was fairly predictable Though Luke Bowen looked sharp,, and Mark Owen showed what he can do in his last two rides.. , And will possibly partner Ben Morley( who made the final tonight) in the best pairs at Coventry on the 4th of october .Benji Compton made some fast gates tonight and finished 3rd ,,,Fast rider that he is Kasper Lykke,s gating let him down and he was the big shock not to make the final,,Well done to the master of sittingbourne Steve Boxall on adding another winners trophy to the National league Riders Championship on sat at Rye House Nice touch by the management awarding trophies to all the riders in the Kent Kings team in the bar after the meeting a large proportion of the Kent fans staying for this ,,Len Silver presenting the trophies and thanking the staff and fans for their wonderfull support over the season So a relatively succesfull 1st season. We will gather again next year folks, first meeting schedualed for Easter Monday afternoon...
iand
Why is Boxall not partnering Ben at the best pairs?
gammy73
Well that was a lovely way to finish off the season! A good meeting all be it a bit processional at times, but a deserved winner in Steve boxall! Really is a class above and a joy to watch! I fear it cud b the last time we see him in a kings race jacket tho as surely a step up to PL is on the cards? But if it is to be then thankyou Steve for all uve done this year! Myself and my lad stopped on afterwards for the end of season presentation and i must say a big thankyou to who i believe was ben morleys family? We were sat on next table to them and my lad was on a mission to get all the riders autographs in his programme board? I think it was bens grandad who must of seen this and asked me who his favourite rider was? I said he was a Steve and ben fan so he then gave him a photo of Steve and ben and went out of his way to find them both for him so they cud sign it for him? Also made sure he had all the other riders sign the board? Made my lads nite and we drove home with him smiling from ear to ear! I think it was bens mum or auntie who even checked before we left that he had found all the riders! I think ben will go a long way with the support he has from his family and just shows how friendly speedway is! Thanks once again to the morley clan and all the riders too!
Parsloes 1928 nearly
It was indeed a great night - a lesson to other clubs that you should always have a final meeting that's about appreciating the riders and giving them a chance to say their thanks and goodbyes. Len was superb in presenting the riders cups in the bar - THAT'S how to promote! Steve winning was a great end to a great season for him and the club. He's right up there now for me as one of my all-time favourite riders. And the icing on the cake for me was seeing the return of Marc Owen - how well Marc rode, winning one heat and leading even Steve for two laps before cruelly fallng in sight of the semis on the last bend. We'd love to see a lot more of you next year Marc..: hint! hint!
waco
The meeting at Coventry is not the league pairs (already raced) this is an end of season invitation event Steve is not in the meeting to my knowledge... Marc is an ex team mate of Ben,s and they are both good friends ,,Coventry are therefor putting together what they consider balanced pairs for this meeting
