Swindon V Poole El Semi Final Play Off 1st Leg 23/9/13

Recommended Posts

Not at all favs are made by the bookies not me or you ...the bottom line is that Poole are the favs to win the league it's that simple .

In your eye's Orion, in your eye's. The bottom line is, as you put it, you had a safe play off place weeks ago, we crept in buy half a nostral. Makes you clear, favorites in my book.. and probably the majority of others... Getting fidgity already are we!!

With a depression heading towards the South Dorset coast in the evening

Monday week... from the Swindon area..

As Steve has said of course Swindon are favorites and I for one AM proud Poole got to the play offs. We ride well at the Abbey Stadium and Swindon go well round Wimborne road and it should be a close run contest which I am looking forward too. Win or loose its going to be some great speedway to find the Elite League Champions also a big thank you to the Lakeside, Kings Lynn for making it a great run in also thanks to the Panthers who were looking such a force and adding to the mix. my heart is with Poole but it will be a close run affair......... UP THE PIRATES

This meeting is what speedway should be all about in my opinion, two teams going at it, no quarter asked or given and nobody knowing who will come out on top, some riders riding above themselves, some below what we know they are capable of, all in all a great nights entertainment.

Rather than last Monday? 1 team sort of giving it half a go, another just being there. Poole asking BV to roll over and everyone knowing Poole would win by 7. Zorro riding well within himself and most below what we know they're capable of and all in all a great bloody shambles.

This isn't a thread about the past and hopefully this time on a good fast dry track we will see a cracking meeting.

Come off it, even a lot of Poole fans felt uncomfortable by it.

And I'm not anti-anything Poole but do admit I don't like a lot of things about Poole but not because it's Poole but because Poole do a lot of bad things. But at least I admit it, most Poole fans were salivating over the thought of no Coventry in 2011 but denied it.

If the truth be known, most Poole fans (as far as BSF was concerned) were salivating over the thought of no Trump in 2011!! And no I'm not talking about bridge!

Well thats your opinion, of course. We ride the airfence, where's the majority stick to the white line.. but rules are never bent. Salivating over no Coventry in 0-11, mate, we may extract the whatnot, but i doubt there's a single fan on this forum who wants to see ANY club go to the wall.. Im mean, id miss my little banter with my little Rosebud Jacques.

I must confess I don't understand the logic of Poole being some bookies' favourites?! They finish 4th - just - and apart from the big home win over Lakeside, they are hardly in the best of form in the past few weeks!!

Its probably due to the look of the current side. A former world champion, a future world champion and two potential future National champions, both with GP experience making the main body of the side look pretty formidable.

Bookies are sometimes wrong, Lucas Matthysse was 1/3 on to beat Danny Garcia but he lost.

Could be a clever move by Swindon financially to host the 1st leg at home as this is likely to mean more Poole fans spending out to support their team, had Swindon won at Poole 1st then a lot of Poole fans probably would not have bothered with the 2nd leg and maybe even some Swindon fans would give it a miss to save for home and away trips in the final?
