Swindon V Poole El Semi Final Play Off 1st Leg 23/9/13

Recommended Posts

Should have come and said hello. We were all having a right old laugh throughout the evening.

Swindons to lose now. We needed a result in heat 15 and didn't get it. On the way home tuned into BBC Wiltshire and listened to the after meeting interviews. Batchelor said it was "in the bag, definitely, and they would "win from here no problem". Have to agree with him to be honest.

Pirates put up a brave fight but our second strings were never going to compete. Disappointed that Josh didn't do as well as the B fixture but that's the way it goes.

Can't see us making it through but as long as the lads go down fighting, then we can say we have had a good season considering the circumstances.

Thought tonights crowd was not very big. Much smaller than the B fixture a month ago.

Well done to Swindon, who did what most of us expected them to do. Can't see them failing from here.

I wouldn't give up just yet Shov. If Morris doesn't ride next week then 10 points can be pulled back with only Kennett and the reserves able to replace him. Our worst results this year have been when we are running RR for Killer or Morris. I still think we will do it but if Morris doesn't make it I will be worried.

You have 1 rider in Ward and even he is struggling out of the starts.

Greg is world class but if he misses the start he struggles these days.

Magic is a liability and a gating tart.

Tungate tries but is really a reserve in the main body

Jonasson - same as magic

Dyer is letting you down big time (where is Howarth when you need him????)

Poole have pulled every stroke and trick in the book to get into the play offs and do not deserve to be there.

Had to laugh at Darcys interview " after the injuries we have had?????" yes Holder was a blow but you got your chequebook out and signed the world number 3!!!!!!!

darcy should have said "our manager should never have signed the useless poles at the start then maybe we would have cruied into the play offs"

Now come on Swindon finish it off in style and go and win at Poole and wipe that smug grin of Fords face

Cant wait for more Middlo childish remarks on twitter.

Nick should be ok but r/r at Poole isnt half as bad for us as at most tacks...especially with Howarth able to cover half of them plus Eddie looks a lot more up for the battle lately...

Just a question to Shovlar...are you Scottyfan in disguise....? Thats either another attempt at the woe is Poole spin or just ludicrously negative

thought the track was too slick last night, however, it was a top performance from the champs...only blip was heats 13 & 14 which took the gloss off a little.

Batch's pass off the last corner just summed up the fight we had last night, even young Lewis put a shift in.. :t:

Is 10 points enough?? it should be ... COYR

Only a plank like Brum would call another team poor just as his team have been turned over at home. Quality.

Thought Shovvy come across quite well to be fair.

Result as I expected. Will be a different story for the likes of THJ and Grajczonek next week at Poole I expect... Can't see Hancock scoring that low again either.

The Wolves Brum tie is effectively over but this one is in my opinion still alive

I thought the meeting was decent with some good racing, Ward looked good early on but made a awful start on his tac ride, Hancock wasnt anywhere near his best but he battled hard, Janowski rode very well until a fantastic last bend pass by Troy, THJ, Tungate and Dyer were awful and Josh was only marginally better.

From Swindons point of view all there riders rode well and the surprise was certainly Kennett who was terrific and a mention to Lewis Kerr who also rode very well.

It will be tough to pull a 10 point deficit back but not impossible by any means, i hope Nick Morris is fit after his tumble, he rode brilliantly to get past Janowski.

I believe the Tac Joker will be the deciding factor in this tie. The Poole score last night was not an accurate reflection on their riding since it included Tac rides, as such the gap is actually bigger. Swindon will be able to play theirs if they are either 10 or 12pts down, which could swing it for them regarding the aggregate scores.

My personal view is that there is no need to Tac jokers in a one off two legged tie, but clearly the BSPA know best!

Well done to the Robins for a good team performance, as expected from a top team at home, against a 3-man Poole side.

A 10 point lead should be defendable, with the possibility of T/Rs if required, even though Poole should be better at home.

I hope both teams are at full strength. THJ is heading home for x-rays it seems!!?

Can see the possibility of Poole pulling back the tenth point round about heat 13. That would make for a very interesting finish.

That's probably with a view to having Hougard Racing Fans (KKS) removed from his rectum, it must be affecting his riding.

Whilst the rest of the nations teams will be uniting in watching Swindon ruining your warped thoughts you have a chance of progressing any further.

Bye bye Poole Monday. The nation will be cheering on ..................................SWINDON.

Very good meeting, some great riding by Darcy at the start, but the Robins showed their strength in depth.

Lewis only scored two points but his holding up of Darcy in heat 11, planned or it happened by chance was a good move.

Troys last bend pass on Janowski was magic and increased the lead to take to Poole.

Lewis is likely to ride at Poole next monday as is Nick who had a bad fall in heat 14.

Well done all the Swindon riders. Going to watch the repeat on Sky.

You really talk some rubbish. Its sad you dont even support the robins but want Poole out that bad like many others :D End of day if we go out we do but your more worried about it than us.We dont really care as given it our best shot and were be back next year.

Well not a bad meeting. Think we rode pretty poor and only lost by 10. If all the riders perform as they can we can beat them by more than 10. Hans, bacth, killderman, pizza face all pretty poor last time i saw them at poole, so lets hope they have a bad one again. If we lose then so be it but i think the boys can do it, depends which Paul Daniels and Grin turns up.

Agree with all of that, thought we were going to get absolutely slaughtered then started dreaming of a small Robins win only to be scuppered in heat 15 by Troy. After we had gone so far behind and messed up both our tac rides i suppose a 10 point deficit isn't too bad. Still enjoyed a meal in the cold harbour pub and of course the parking is always easy!

Funny, you make no mention of your fellow Pirates that will be happy if Wolves lose. You clearly are as blue tinted as some as your fellow supporters.

But like you say, MANY others must talk rubbish for wanting Swindon to knock Poole out. Or just maybe their is a reason why so many think that way - just saying. :t:
