Swindon V Poole El Semi Final Play Off 1st Leg 23/9/13

No sign of ford was there and what was middlo whinging about "my boys don't have the power in there engines" sorry Neil but you'd thought you'd get that sorted before the meeting. Ah look at me ranting about my teams manager & promoter lol. But at least it sets it up to be quite an interesting meeting though , people are going on about last years meeting at poole and to me there are two vast differences firstly pooles team is nigh on completely different and the track was relatively sodden so IMO you can't really read much into that one. But great speedway and was ridden in a good spirit by both sets of riders which was pleasing to see !

Matt was there.

As for the meeting, It's going to be tight but Swindon have the edge.

I think the reserves and Tungate let Poole down hugely.

All 3 of the above are PL riders, more of a let down was the much vaunted (by you) Polish Extraliga heat-leader THJ who only managed to beat the Robins reserves (once each).

Can't see Poole pulling that back, even if they get level that's Swindon into T/R's, Poole are still too top heavy and if one of those big hitters is indifferent (ie Hancock) they are screwed.

Would take something quite unforseen for it not to be a Brum V Swindon final from here.

Just back home after tonight's meeting.

Well pleased with the result, honestly thought before the meeting that it could have gone either way but even if we had lost by a small margin we could actually win at Poole next week.

Not getting carried away as i've Swindon teams pull defeat from the jaws of victory too many times but a nice safe performance next week should really see us through now.

I did enjoy watching a few heats round the back straight tonight with some colleagues from work and saw Shovler hiding out of the way in the shadows. The look on his face tonight was a picture at times. No doubt he'll be putting aeay his 'bullish' card tonight and drag out the underdogs one again.
