stevebrum
In for a penny in for a pound,id go the whole hog keep it in the family, and replace Miskowiak with another asset Aspgren. Pontus looked very impressive on Monday, and think hed do a better job than Bob.Dont know wether its even possible, but with the loyalty factor shown by CVS and Adams, highly unlikely to happen anyway. And just to think there were so many happy Wolves fans faces when M0030iskowiak was announced as the replacement. Think Wayne Broadhurst could do a better job. SCB
Nic is fast turning into M0030iskowiak and we already have him as an uncertain scorer."fast turning into"? He always has been!

I know you arent a fan but those of us who have watched him week in week out have seen the gradual improvement up till last season.
fish keeper
I would have liked Pontus to get ago looked very good Monday.
Steve0
I don't know why everyone is assuming the winners will come from the other semi, personally i think any of the four teams involved have a good chance and i would still put the brummies as favourites. They struggled against Kings Lynn but the track was a big leveller that night and Harris is alot better than that. The play-offs are a leveller so effectively any of the 4 teams could win it - matches aren't won on paper and depends on how they ride on the track and free from injuries. I still think it will be a Swindon vs Brummies final but we all know what happened with Coventry in 2010!

And Miskowiak has a World Under 21 Title, so being compared to him is no bad thing. I just think both rely heavily on their gating, are very confidence based rider who can win any race but equally can come last at any time. I'm still not convinced to being compared to him as a good thing at all, however you do make very valid points. I still cannot believe Bobby is the same rider that stormed to 19 points on his first visit to Monmore
noaksey
Klindt confirmed for both legs Being described on the Wolves twitter feed as a "star guest" Jesus wept
Wolfsbane
So they've nailed their colours to the Klindt mast. Hope to God he goes well. For me I can't help thinking it's an easy option and what happens if he has a 'mare in the 1st leg? Publically naming him for the 2nd leg this early is just plain stupid IMO. As regards Gating (or not ) Bob, I was one of the siren voices calling for his inclusion in place of Ty and I'm not going to go cold on him now. Any meetings he had prior to the play offs were always going to be 'warm ups'. Having said that what he has, or rather hasn't, achieved in them is giving me a squeaky bum
noaksey
If he's crap at Monmore then he did go well at PB recently unfortunately it was against us......
magnificentseven
Klindt is under pressure to perform - not only has he been described as a Star Guest by the promotion but he will be expected to score at least as many guesting for us at Perry Barr as he did guesting against us for Birmingham. Wolfsbane
From the OS, '....it feels like we are keeping it in the family....' Oh lordy, bet that's got the Brummies worried

foreverblue
To be fair he has been performed a lot better since he has ridden in the PL and could be a match winner.

Last season after they knocked us out in the semi, I was more hoping than expecting Swindon to do Poole so anything can happen, over a season the odd duff match can be recovered from, the play offs are effectively sudden death. Would be nice to pay Swindon back for last year, though they deserved it fair n square then. You never know what you'll get with Klindt, when he guested for us, the impression I got is he will have 2 great and 2 crap heats. We need Covatti to show the same liking to Monmore he did on his first visit, not one of Auty's better hunting grounds, Nico was rusty on Monday, but got better in his last 2 rides and has more "practice" at Lynn tonight, think he might surprise in a couple of heats next week. BWitcher
My concern over booking Nicolai for the first meeting lies in us making the wrong move.. i.e. if he has a bad first leg, not using him in the 2nd. That would be the wrong thing to do. Birmingham is a track he will go well at. Wolves, its a mental thing and will be hit or miss. Hopefully he will be fine and it won't be an issue. Heat 2 will be crucial, if he can make the gate and get away for 3pts, confidence will be up.. if not, who knows.
Wolfsbane
Glad to see all the Brummies got through last night unscathed. More of the same from Smolinski & Auty on Monday would be helpful

And didn't Auty test the 4th bend fence? Edited September 19, 2013 by SCB
