Countershaftcounter
i live in the middle of Kings Lynn, Mildenhall and Ipswich and try to get to as many meetings as possible. Looking at the EADT just before the playoffs there was an interview that featured Gino and I think Morten. One of them suggested that recently the pressure had been getting to "the younger members" of the team. Â Nice to see that both Heeps and Ellis were at the forefront of Ipswich's efforts when the real pressure was on. ( unlike some others) hopefully CL will bear this in mind when chasing riders for 2015
Baldyman
Spot on comment, but I doubt it will make much difference
Badge
Taken from Fozz's tweet just now:  Rohan Tungate - Rider of the Year  2 for Ritchie Hawkins and 1 for Gino Manzares (not sure what they won, it's usually Bonus points leader, Most entertaining rider and best up and coming rider, or something like that!!)  Must say Ritchie Hawkins was my man of the season. CardinalSin
Manzares was my rider of the year by some distance.
Baldyman
How the hell did tungate get rider of the year, a rider that openly admitted that for part of the season he couldn't be bothered. What a joke, I take it only teenage girls voted.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
A little surprised to see Rohan named rider of the year. Thought Gino would take it or perhaps captain Ritchie.
Badge
The results: Rider of the season - Rohan Most entertaining rider - Gino Most improved rider - Ritchie H Bonus points shield winner - Ritchie H
Baldyman
Well I agree with 2 of those, and one of those is a statistical, so have to. Apart from the bonus points award are all the others voted for by fans? And do you have to attend the end of season dinner to vote?

Roland
I wonder how many members there are? A Freedom Of Information request needs to be made  Based on the meetings I attended, I would have chosen Manzares for all three awardable titles. Presumably you weren't there on the weeks he was snapping primary chains, over riding and smashing his head against the track?
Countershaftcounter
I thought it was just me who reckoned the Gino love is over exaggerated, too inconsistent for my liking.
TheScotsman
So are the awards only based on the last month?
Roland
So are the awards only based on the last month? I agree, it should be based across the whole season, but when the voting was taking place, that's how the lad was performing. He's an uncut diamond, he's got it, but it's going to take time. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
So are the awards only based on the last month?yeah at Ipswich we have awards play offs so despite being top in the regular season Gino went out in the semis! wink
Baldyman
No wonder Ipswich struggled to win anything when push came to shove. We only managed to have one rider in Barrowboys end of season top 20, which took in the last 10 meetings. Only Worrall managed to make the top 20,, at number 19. TheScotsman
But the championees had 3 in the top 10 (top 8 actually)!!
