Ipswich 2014

Recommended Posts

A good positive piece. Very ambitious to set his sights to out perform Siggy and Cookie. If he can get half way to that Ill be happy to be there to see it. Cant wait for it all to get started now!

All very positive as you say, can't knock the boy for ambition. If he does indeed outperform those two legends, I suppose in "todays money" Darcy Ward will have someone to race with in a couple of years?

Can't knock him on enthusiasm, that's for sure. Looks like you have a real character there. Good luck to him and the Witches for 2014 (just a little less than for the Rebels though).

So obviously born in the USA - compared to the 'not' rider from the US Ricky Wells - 2 years at Sheffield - No wheelies, no fist pumps and certainly no smiles. Struggled in his first year to get to grips with the track, best rider we had last year. Unfortunately this fella has no idea how to interact with his supporters. Gino looks like he'll have some fun at Foxhall - win or lose, seems to be a really nice guy, the kind you need to keep everybody's head up.

A little worrying about Cam particularly as early signs were positive.

Not a lot of time left before the season starts to allow a full recovery.

I'm sure the Workington supporters will win Ricky round :approve: A late signer wasnt he last season for Sheffield with not agreeing terms ? so maybe the place rather than the rider

Last year was he second year and he was same for both. He did struggle a little with the track in his first term, but when they made it ultra-slick on the inside he was ok. Like I stated he was our best rider last year (he was the only one that stayed fit throughout), but he really didn't respond to the fans even when he'd pulled off good passes etc and got the response from the terraces. He struggled to lift his left hand to acknowledge the applause.

Hope he does well for you as he is quite a gifted rider and will no doubt prove his worth in some of the away meetings - as long as it's not at Sheffield!

I read that Heeps coming back to the uk earlier than planned as he requires further surgery.

Is that so he can benefit from the expertise of the doctors and surgeons in the uk

OR cus be can sponge off the British tax payer and get a free medical treatment.

Not rocket science to work out which one !!

sick to death of Johnny Foreigner -

Another sad little Englander!!!

Me thinks he would be better off reading the Daily Mail rather than the speedway forum.

Yeah, but he a second rate premier league rider - and paying in less than he is getting out.

Just another Aussie Criminal decedent coming back for revenge !

Why not stay in Aussie and come back once he healed.

As for Brujas Espanalos ( message above ) the name says it all. Nothing wrong with the daily mail.

I guess you abusing the UK rules too

Happy days.

I'd be very surprised if he was using the nhs as he would not be having surgery that quickly !!

I expect he is paying for it privately.

As the saying goes " good point, well made Barbara "

Oh, I love this forum for winding people up. Roll on March and tapes up - if only this bloody rain stops !

Thank you (muchas cracias)

I understand that stadium bosses Spedeworth International are planing a further upgrade of facilities at Foxhall Heath. It seems that besides their own major two-day annual event in mid-season (as well as their usual car race programmes) they also hope to eventually promote the prestige Brisca Formula One World Championship - this usually takes place in early September.

Aside from that, I wonder if eventually Ipswich could be a place for major speedway championships on a regular basis each season? Is there any sound of that happening on the Foxhall Heath speedway jungle drums?
