Ipswich 2014

Like what for example

Firstly, you didn't answer Shadders question... Which I didn't think you would...

Secondly, you will see tracks this year that offer a lot less than what Rye does.. I've seen some fantastic passes there, made even better be because of how technical a track it may seem.. Peterborough has duff meetings too.. In fact everywhere does...

So, I put it back to you.. Definition of a speedway track?

A track which encourages racing and is both big enough and wide enough for riders to use many different lines and allows overtaking on any part of it for 4 laps and not just the start and first corner.

Being somewhat older than you I have a lot of experience of second tier speedway (30 years plus) and have attended Rye House on

numerous occasions.

definition of a good speedway track is simple....must have dirt. Just because a track is fast like Peterborough doesn't mean it's good racing. Two evenly matched sides makes a good meeting. Ive seen some shockers at Peterborough as well as Lakeside and Eastbourne. Watch PK and Darcy at Lakeside and over the years Loram and Dugard at Lakeside and Eastbourne. Just because tracks are fast the racing looks better but many times I've seen the Panthers gate and go and it's boring. 2 even teams on a track with dirt will lead to good racing irrelevant of track size

I don't disagree with the dirt post, you must spend a lot of your time at Peterborough as it's one of the few places that still use it.

Don't think I have seen anything other than shockers at Lakeside and Eastbourne, probably the only good thing about dropping down to the PL this year.

Gate and go is boring no argument from me on that one.

Obviously none of them in recent years then, the Rye House track has nearly always offered decent racing during my time as a fan, riders going fast doesn't mean that the racing is good. You'll be pleasantly surprised when the Panthers visit us I'm sure as your line up has a few riders in it that may actually attack a small track.

The age/time you've been attending speedway meaning you are better placed to comment on it argument really agitates me and far too many people use it here.

All of the above is totally relevant to Ipswich of course.

The last time was for a Panthers challenge match at the start of 2012, it was exactly how I remembered it.

You are going to be so spoilt at the EWR racing against the Scorpions-big wide open spaces and racing lines a plenty :t:

Looks like Rohan will be back over here in February, according to his tweets anyway.

Hopefully that means any visa issues are/will be sorted for him (and all others)

Any visa issues are certainly not putting Rohan off at Gillman today!!!! :t:

Good to see indeed!

I understand Rohans visa doesnt run out untill March hence the need to be here in Feb to sort it out 4 weeks ahead as per the requirements.
