Ipswich 2014

Recommended Posts

Well having checked last years groups I would have thought they would replace Leicester in the midland group.

Most likely come to think of it even though its a bit bizarre given Boro will be the track closest to Foxhall.

That being the case the cup match would seem very logical.

Heard a yarn that first meeting will be Morten's testimonial on Sat 22nd March. Not a lover of these meetings, but at least these meetings in March can usually attract the better riders as they want track time. It came from a reliable source, anybody else heard about it?

I thought there was something on the official Ipswich Speedway website as well, but nothing there now.

How is Morten entitled to a testimonial?

It seems 10 years in British Speedway is the only criteria now.

No longer does it need to be with only one club/promoter.

Testimonials are thrown out like confetti. Stay 10 years at 1 club like Louis did and you deserve one. Move around a lot then not so. Loram never had a testimonial but had a farewell meeting. Kasprzak doesn't deserve one. Grieves at Glasgow and Lindgren certainly did

That'll be Rye House

I will bow to your expert judgement on the one - I havent checked the exact distances/travel times.

Was going purely on the instinct that Boro always seemed quicker and easier to get to than Rye from Ipswich.

That was my first thought too, but did a quick check on Google maps just out of curiosity. Not much in it mind.

Think we are destined for a place in the play offs personally. Newcastle , Berwick , Somerset , Workington and my surprise packages Rye House look good to me and I'm going for a shock league winners in Berwick

Welcome home Gavan - thought you had moved to Poole!! ;);)

Not looking too far out Id say. Personally Id throw in Scunthorpe instead of Berwick though.

Worky look the stand out team to me.

Personally I can't see Berwick winning, Scunthorpe Newcastle Redcar Somerset all look to pretty good teams. Workington I would say look the strongest and along with us in think maybe the top six. But as we all know injuries can play a massive part in the outcome, and the teams that make changes at the right time. I think we certainly have the best potential at reserve through out the season.
