Baldyman
Didn't we still loose at home to Workington with 6 of them? After that we certainly were not going to win the playoffs anyway. Yes we may have lost one of the cups due to injury. Superb team? I wouldn't have gone that far, although most of the time they were pretty good, well most were anyway. The improvement of cam made that team good. That's just my opinion though and everyone else is entitled to theirs.

Yes, it was a superb team, just pipped to first place in the final heat of the final meeting by a slightly better team. Â We picked up points at just about every League fixture bar one or possibly two?
Baldyman
No I'm saying it was the amazing improvement in cam that made the team as good as it was, if he hadn't of improved as much as he did, I think the team would have been mid table. We were pipped at the post having led that meeting by 6 twice but certain riders failed to perform like they did many times during the season. And I will say it again, I personally don't think the team was superb, it was made into a very good one by the great season Cameron had. I watched them often enough on enough different tracks to make my opinion. We may have actually finished top if the team riding order was left alone, once morten was moved to 5 we started to fade in meetings. Your opinion it was superb, my opinion it wasn't. That's why I love different opinions, although it does sometime seem we are not allowed to have different opinions. 2ndbendbeerhut
Im sure we wont go with a team that puts Leigh at No1. Â Won't need to if Manzares is not on a 7.00, 2 more points to play with......

Some of you Ipswich fans do leave me scratching my head at times. Risager seems to come in for plenty of stick, seemingly for being inconsistent.  Well the league, any league come to that, is littered with them. If Risager was a little more consistent, he's be an 8 point rider. If he was a lot more consistent, he'd be a 9 point rider.  Next season, every single club in the PL will have inconsistent riders, Riders who are match winners one meeting, and stink the place out the next.  Heeps was part of the Ipswich TEAM. Every club that does particularly well has a rider that has a cracking season and puts points on his average.  Glasgow won the title in large part due to Nick Morris doing just that, but even they had riders who disappointed at times.  You're simply not going to have a team full of riders who will all up their averages and excel. Everyone would obviously like that, but in reality it never happens.  Thank your lucky stars you haven't had to put up with the dross that the likes of the Sheffield fans have had to put up with in recent times. ZODIAK
now that looks like a league winner to me  How about either of these? Worrall 8.64 Smith 7.15 Tungate 7.05 Heeps 6.74 Aarnio 5.86 Hawkins 3.96 Worrall 3.0 Total 42.4 /quote] this team also looks a winner with Smith also a number one in an injury free season. As soon as you take morten out of the team it instantly looks stronger to me. Welcome back aljack, someone that mainly sees it as it really is Jesus Christ this has to be sarcasm surely!!?? Baldyman
But you don't put your inconsistent riders at number 5 in the team were they are normally partnered by a reserve, that's asking for heat advantages against, they should be partnered with a more reliable rider, which at one point he was. CardinalSin
Adam ellis has tweeted that he is looking for pl team place Interesting. May or may not mean that he's in Louis' plans. Pretty quiet on the Witches team building front so maybe the promotion are still working out which way to go team building wise.  Ellis won't have a problem getting a team place in the PL, so if Louis does want him in the 1-7 he better hurry up and offer him terms before someone else does.  Think we'll regret not signing him again if he goes elsewhere.
2ndbendbeerhut
End of the day its a numbers game. Way I see it is after our new number 1 (well Barker's not coming back is he?) Its any 3 from Heeps, Lanham, Tungate and Risager. At reserve its either Ellis or Hawkins, with a 3 pointer. Which is going to leave about 5 points for final place....... Islander15
1. Nick Morris 8.84 2. Lewis Blackbird 4.93 3. Leigh Lanham 7.16 4. Cameron Heeps 6.74 5. Rohan Tungate 7.05 6. Josh Bates 3.00 7. Adam Ellis 4.25 Â Several other options at #1: Worrall, Grajczonek, Lawson... Â Thoughts? Nearer the mark to what? Are we talking about one particular match here, or general performances over the course of the season which is what I thought we were discussing? seanmuffe
Nearer the mark to what? Are we talking about one particular match here, or general performances over the course of the season which is what I thought we were discussing? In as much as we were a pretty good not superb. Really do hate to say it even though our reserves were stronger than the Rebels Doyle, Morris make them more than slightly better than the Witches. We missed a opportunity that night at the Oaktree but sadly that happens too often. It would have meant nothing because Rebels were always going to prevail. We improved again this season its going in the right direction but hopefully next season we will close the gap even more. I haven't checked but I assume the top 4 didn't drop many points either. It was a cracking league with 5 teams still in with a chance of doing the unlikely knocking the Rebels off the top spot so late in the season. More of the same next season but with one particular change we can dust that space in the Trophy cabinet.
Baldyman
It's still going to be tough next season, unless Cameron can stick another 2 points on his starting average, which would see him nearly a 9 point rider. No doubting he will improve again, but can he improve 2 points? I would imagine next seasons biggest average improver will be Ritchie. What we need next season is not morten who's average will stay the same but another rider who's average will improve.

I can't imagine Louis wouldn't want him at Ipswich, we've seen the difference a 2nd season in the PL at the same club can do with Cam Heeps, I understand Adam had said that he second hand bikes last year which let him down from time to time and next year he is getting new bikes - so with his 1st season of PL racing under his belt on inconsistent machinery I'm sure Louis wouldn't want another club to reap the benefits. Plus on his current average he's certain to increase that by 1-2 points come this time next year.
