Ipswich 2014

Recommended Posts

Worrall would be good, but isn't the reason he is quitting Newcastle to race in Poland on a Sunday? Which means we would be without him against Sunday tracks. Personally I don't fancy Allen, not very entertaining. I read Louis is considering all of this seasons team, that's a shame.

To be fair, this year's team just missed out on finishing 1st in heat 15 of our final meeting, pretty good really! Only injuries at the wrong time saw us flop in the play offs.

From the look of the team photo on the official site from the dinner and dance, it looks as though Barker didn't attend that either.

Almost certainly looking for a new number 1 next season I'd say.

I cant access the official site. What's that all about, anyone know ?

Ben was a no show, didn't go down well with many there.

I have a hunch Olly Allen will be number 1..

Hope Chris has got an unlimited calls package for his mobile then.

So why all this with Barker? Is it just a result of the late cancellation of his attendance at the 16 lapper? Shame if he doesn't race for us again, nearly always entertaining, unlike Allen who is one of the ultimate gating tarts. I really hope we don't see him in Ipswich colours again, but that's just my opinion and many may disagree. It would certainly lessen my weekly visits if that's the case. As well as it being a sport, I think it's more of an evenings entertainment for me, so I want to be entertained.

As in calling riders to guest when he inevitably gets injured?

I agree, and he wouldn't be my choice either, but I just have a feeling it'll happen.

Really not sure who I fancy at 1 to be honest. Barker looks doubtful and it looks like Cook and Doyle maybe missing the PL next year.

Possibly Worrall maybe the best of the rest.

If Leicester go Elite, there's a few there that will be up for grabs.

Bjerre? Doolan!? Not as number one's, but 2nd/3rd heatleader maybe.

Apparently Mick Horton on a Coventry phone has intimated that there would be 11 teams in the Elite next year.

Given that Leicester seemed nailed on to join either the Witches are staying put or an existing is dropping out.

Says on the Wolverhampton 2014 thread that at last nights talk in , if no sky deal and the EL weakened THREE PL teams to move up. Would imagine Ipswich would be one along with Leicester, just unsure about the third?

Ritchie Worrall is available as he's ruled out a return to Newcastle.

If Barker doesn't return does anyone fancy him as a replacement at number 1?

Would give us just under a point extra to play with as well.

Olly Allen also available on just over 8 as Rye have ruled him out also.

Worrall yes, Allen no - too injury prone for me and with a high average it's far too much of a risk.

Interesting quote from Alex Harkess in the Edinburgh Evening News................

Harkess said: “Leicester have hinted they would like to move up, but they are the only Premier League club who have stated a preference to race in the Elite League.”

So no interest from Ippo in moving up then?

Crazy stuff!

We usually get out to Ippo and Mildenhall a few times a year for bangers and stocks etc.

Must say the facilities at Ippo are now excellent.

The crowds are always excellent too.

There have been a fair few posts on the BSF about Ippo moving up so some people are still keen.

The full Harkess article is interesting........http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/speedway/speedway-monarchs-boss-dismisses-league-merger-1-3186403

If he's right there may not be that many PL changes track-wise.

And Cookie back next year hopefully though 2 x 3 pointers would be a big gamble unless they are 2 good ones.

Worrall would be a decent choice, would love Fisher he's box office at this level but highly unlikely for many reasons.

One of the Leicester boys maybe, possibly a return for Doolan? No longer a number 1 but his average now reflects that.

Club Asset so if money is a little tight this winter he could be an option.

The first bit of business the promotion need to do though is tie down Cameron Heeps to a new contract for next year, he's a must in any league scenario.

I fully believe he's capable of challenging hard for the number 1 race jacket next season.

Must say the facilities at Ippo are now excellent.

Amazing what has been achieved there in such a short space of time, with more work due this winter I believe.

Anyone visiting Foxhall for the first time in a few years would hardly recognise the place.

The "Foxhole" jibes have been well and truly put to bed!!
