Super Blue
Agree with everyone , well done to Somerset on finishing top , a very close run thing in the end last night although had both teams been at full strength I think the Rebels winning margin would have been greater , a shame from a Witches point of view that we couldn't take advantage of that but still all to play for in the playoffs . gusworld
Congrats to the Rebels. A surprising win really with Ippo having on paper a great chance to win at the OTA but faded at the end. Heat 14 was the killer punch from the Rebels with Davies and Wright team riding to keep Lanham out. Looking forward to the play offs with Doyle and Morris back in the side. Baldyman
So we nearly won the fours, and now nearly won the play off qualifiers, can we nearly win the play offs and cup too?
Super Blue
So we nearly won the fours, and now nearly won the play off qualifiers, can we nearly win the play offs and cup too? Might all come down to who wears the No 5 race jacket in the playoffs , one more point from there would have made all the difference last night ! oldtimer
Well done Rebels, well the four that were there, a great fight back after being behind. Should be able to beat Newcastle and Redcar in the Play Off first rounds.
Jonny the spud
What happened to Morten last night ?? Also thought maybe Adam might have done better in heat 14 Oh well
Baldyman
From what I have seen of morten previously at that track and tracks like it, it just doesn't suit his riding style, and leaving him at 5 was not the greatest of ideas. That's just my opinion and, but I'm sure someone else will say something else.
Arch Stanton
What happened to Morten last night ?? He let the team down, pure and simple. A rider of his experience has to be doing better than that. Cameron Heeps tweeted after a rare poor meeting for him at Edinburgh recently, that he let the team down on that occasion. Risager has to hold his hands up and admit that he, let the team down last night.
Baldyman
This is gonna be a strange one for me, but in a way I am going to stick up for morten slightly. Yes he has experience and lots of it, but those that have seen him race on tracks of that type know it's not the best for him, so in my mind he should have been moved to number 2 for this meeting, so in a way the team manager also let us down. Also I see no one has mentioned rohan, he had also only scored 3 points from his first 4 races, morten had only had 3 rides for his 3 points, so you could actually blame rohan more. Like last season his form seems to have dipped in the last month or so. Has he really pushed on as much as most thought he would in his second season and also getting elite league experience. In the premier league games don't think he has hardly much, if at all.
Arch Stanton
Doesn't matter what position he rode, be it number 5, 2 or anywhere else. 3 points was woeful and he let the team down. Tungate also didn't have his best night, and to be honest is a victim of his early career success. Tungate is riding his second season as a professional speedway rider. Risager on the other hand has nearly 10 years riding experience, most of it in the top flight.
Baldyman
But like I was saying, wasn't only his fault, although I wish it was. I really don't rate him at all. His 10 years experience count for nothing though when you are the best you are ever going to be. Personally I hope he is nowhere near the team again next year, the same as I have for the last couple of years. We really will struggle to win anything With a rider like him in our team. I dare say he will be in it next season again though

The bottom line is Risager let the team down yesterday and he knows it. There's no point dressing it up any other way. And I agree with you, I'd expect Risager to be one of the first names on the team sheet for next year, whatever League we find ourselves in! dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Oh come on surely we should have won that match, they had their best rider missing and a national league guest. With a 6 point lead twice it looks like we throw it away. With morten at 5 on away tracks its not going to work. Well done though to Somerset, they obviously wanted it more than we did as they kept overtaking us by the look on updates. Looks like Adam, cam and Ritchie all done well though. After seeing tonights demolition of the Monarchs and even allowing for the returning Doyle and Morris it shows the Witches effort was a decent one. Hopefully you feel a bit better about our result BM?

Agreed, they look very very strong. The one area you could say could be targeted was their reserves, but it looks like they've made a very good choice bringing in Wright, despite the criticism they took in doing so. crazyb
Quite often riders are signed up by PL clubs before an EL club subsequently takes them on as double ups. Furthermore EL clubs are now changing their double ups during the season for strategic reasons (e.g. Howarth from Poole to Swindon) or injury replacements (e.g. Screen for Roynon @ Coventry). Therefore you cannot always know in advance who will end up registered for both a PL and an EL club. The previous arrangement where PL fixtures always took precedence, meant the likes of Monday's Somerset vs Ipswich staffing farce would not occur. It has been suggested the new arrangement of double ups fixture priority was put in place as part of an agreement to ensure that those riding in Danish & Swedish leagues would honour their UK commitments over re-arranged Scandinavian matches and vice versa. IMO the EL have benefited at the expense of the PL, and the PL clubs should insist on a return to the 2012 system next year. What is the difference between Barker, Doyle and Craig Cook. How was it that Cook rode for his PL side and missed Belle Vue, but the opposite happened with the other two. Both meetings were re-arranged so what have I missed, or was it something to do with Poole and Sky again!
Bash
The meetings that are re-arranged first take priority.
