Young51
Fair play to the Broomstick Brigade A good comeback but we just fell short in the end.No matter it's the end game that counts..just ask Newcastle that after last season! Can't say i'm surprised by the digs at Cookie from certain quarters though..yawn how tedious!!Score a stunning 18 point maximum away from home, and you still get the guff from the s .. A couple of the Monarchs lads really didnt really show up tonight tbh,but over the season everyone has chipped in really well,so i wont have a go after a bad night at Foxhole..we win & we lose as a team n aw that.Onwards & upwards it's still all to play for.. SCOTLAND1314
Would probably be best to just ignore him, not applaud or boo. We don't want to wind him up into a maximum. Failed
2ndbendbeerhut
Cook was superb tonight, great first bends and very quick (equalled track record). However............. Going into heat 15 the Monarchs needed a heat advantage to claim a point, So does his personal glory of scoring an 18 point max matter when his team could have scored a point which possibly could lead to 2nd place in league? Witches now 4 points above them. Witches had pick of gates, choose 1 (Tungate) and 3 (Barker), quite rightly as gate 4 is shockingly bad (2 race winners all night inc Cook). But what happens? Cook off 2, Tabaka off 4. Surely Tabaka should have been given the chance to win and Cook then claim a third. Cook gates and clears off, Barker and Tungate then look for each other off the 2nd bend and team ride (Hancockesque) for the 4 laps keeping Tabaka behind but not that far behind. Cook celebrates his max, Witches celebrate the 3 points. Any questions?
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Explain please, thanks He took gate 2 in heat 15 leaving Tabaka with the iffy gate 4 when needing a heat advantage to get a point. Then shot off and allowed Ben and Rohan to team ride a 3-3. I have just asked him why and he said he would not have been confident of getting past if didnt make it off 4. (which surprised me given his dominance all night) He said they felt it was a better plan for him to go out and win it and just see how it went for Tabaka. Super Blue
Well , glad to get the 3 league points . Just ! A Cook master class tonight , totally untouchable . Ben , definitely off the pace , quite clearly not fully fit yet . Is it just me thinking this or are a few of the Witches looking a tad jaded as we approach the real business end of the season ? The last 2 home meets have been big wins but only against the poorer teams , I think we may end up struggling in the playoffs .
Baldyman
No complaints from me, cook was in a class of his own tonight. Looked like Barker may have given him a race in heat 13 until morten got in this way stopping his run off the bend. We seemed to make hard work of that again tonight considering they only had a 2 and half man team.
2ndbendbeerhut
Track seemed a bit tricky early on, moisture coming through it maybe? Thing is we are a bit sluggish but still doing enough to get the 3 points. Possibly put Heeps at 4 and Lanham at 2. Heeps was unlucky not to get 15 but long space between races when at 2. Al Stewart
He took gate 2 in heat 15 leaving Tabaka with the iffy gate 4 when needing a heat advantage to get a point. Then shot off and allowed Ben and Rohan to team ride a 3-3. When we lost at Berwick after Cook had taken 4, Alex Harkess said he regretted doing it that way and wished he had given Cook 2 and hoped Tabaka had picked up something. So John Campbell did it the other way round tonight. Still didn't work.

Bash
The thing was in heat 15 Cook didn't once look for his team mate and seeing as Edinburgh needed a heat advantage to get a point out of the meeting, you would think he would try to slow the race down to help his team mate but he was the length of the straight ahead as the Ipswich riders was riding side by side to stop Tabaka. The only time he looked round was entering turn 3 on the last lap and then slowed down but was so far ahead the following riders still didn't catch him by the line. cyclone
No problem with Cookie's efforts tonight, as once more he reaffirmed his position as the PL's undisputed number one Was not expecting the PL Fours Champs to pick up any match points at Foxhall Heath, so the end result was no surprise.
London Witch
Al Stewart must say I like the generally sporting reaction of the Witches fans to last night's fairly heavy defeat, given that there has been a certain amount of niggle between the sides in the last couple of years. Let's hope winners and losers on Thursday night are equally gracious. Sadly not a single simple "well done" So I'll say it. WELL DONE WITCHES. GREAT TEAM EFFORT Edited September 12, 2013 by London Witch
spanner47
They used to say "happiness is 40-38", these days It's a 7 point win and no injuries, couldn't be better!! Just hope after tomorrows meeting the lads can have a rest and bring home some silverware at the end of the season.
Footslide
Sadly not a single simple "well done" So I'll say it. WELL DONE WITCHES. GREAT TEAM EFFORT Or even a, "Well Done to both Teams for riding and finishing a Speedway Meeting in the proper spirit and putting all the animosity to bed". Fingers crossed, anyway.

Cooks a decent rider, his average doesn't lie, but he's not in Tai's class and never will be.
