Guest
I assume there is no reason why next Monday's (September 16) Kent Kings v Wimbledon clash should not be the same as for today's (September 9) rained off fixture? In what sense.? If you mean riders then there could well be a reason: fixture clashes for one... Yes, that's a very valid point you make P1928. A matter of patiently waiting for a couple of days for more updates.
Sir Sidney
Latest news on the Kings web site http://www.kentkings.co/news/2013/september/201309113_Third_time_lucky_for_Kent_CTA_Fire_Kings_vs_Wimbledon.html Unfortunately I will not be able to go tomorrow - I can't re-arrange work committments again to allow me to get there in time. Good luck to the Dons team
Guest
Apart from light rain shower forecast for 3pm, BBC Weather predicts a generally favourable day weatherwise on Monday. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2637802
sandwichspeedwayfan
The teams for tonight are available on the Kent website, Schrammy and Chris Mills who were due to ride for Wimbledon both have PL fixtures tonight, Kasper Lykke and Stefan Nielsen are riding instead. Andre Cross is the only former Don (I believe) listed in the team.
Margate Pete
I've just heard that Dave Mason has picked up a bug and won't be riding tonight.
waco
Expect some good passes with Kasper Lykke in the meeting for Wimbledon who will be no pushovers with Stefan Nielsen also in the side against the Kings top guns,,,in the lower order thing s may favor the Kings slightly Weather looks okay and a good match in prospect 6-30 PM START

Guest
Andre Cross is not riding due to work commitments. That was on the Wimbledon discussion group site last week. It was made very clear then that Andre Cross had advised he would not be riding because he had booked in a day's work at his business and there was no way he could change what was involved. BossMan
Well done to the "Wimbledon" team on victory tonight. Hopefully Kent will try for an later start time for 2014 and I can get to a meeting
Guest
Well done Wimbledon for the 50-37 victory, but Kings probably missed the experience of David Mason who was unwell.
Sir Sidney
Well done to the Dons team tonight. It can't hurt the current process relating to the stadium to show that there is still interest in Wimbledon
waco
Wimbledons Stefan Nielsen 15 point max ,,Kasper Lykke 11+1,,,With good back up from Brendan Johnson and Danny Phillips proved to strong for the depleated Kent Kings winning 37-50,, who were without David Mason,,and lost Jack Kingston to injury as early as heat two ..Ben Morley battled hard for his 12 from 6 rides.. Steve Boxall had one brilliant ride when passing Kasper Lykke ,,and one poor one in Heat 13 and finished with 8 points...Adam Kirby did well to come back from a nasty fall in heat 2 when lifting out of the second bend when in front,,, he finshed with 8 points including a win ... Benji Compton after a strong start 5 from his first two rides then had bike problems in his last three rides..Connor coles had one good win in his 4 points ...Stefan Nielsen won the rider of the night award well deserved and was immaculate on his first visit to the track,,Crowd was a bit down on normal but this was an entertaining challenge match, despite a delay with problems to the starting gate.Still the curfew was just beaten with a couple of minutes to spare.. That shows how much Adam Kirby has improved over the season. I am sure a once regular critic of him will be impressed with this fact? SFTGNigel
Very annoyed to have missed this but spending 10 of the previous 24 hours driving to and from North Wales meant another 3 or 4 getting to Sittingbourne would have been foolhardy. What was the crowd like and any indication how many Dons fans were there? Did they go ahead with the auctioning off of Dons race jackets etc.? Parsloes 1928 nearly
Good crowd (actually sold out of progs which I don't think has happened before...) and a good number in Dons' colours. Race jackets NOT auctioned as the plan (as I understand it) will be to repeat the fixture for the John Cerans Cup next year and onwards as an annual feature.

If the league loose Dudley then hopefully the Kings fan base will take over.

waco
Gustix,,I think he is refering to the large Dudley fan base that follows the team to away tracks, as well as home meetings If they move up to the premier next season ,then he is suggesting that the Kings may take up the mantle of being the team with the largest fan base ,Least that s what i think he ment i could be wrong ?
