With David Mason missing for what ever reason ? so R/R in operation And Stokes top 5 having been strengthened with the inclusion Of Steve Worrel and Tom Young..Kents chances of a final league victory have bee considerably reduced i think the best we can hope for is Boxall retaining the bronze helmet and the team taking a point from the meeting Hope everyone has a good meeting and stays safe

Let's hope the David Mason absence is not a rerun of what happened earlier in the season? I thought he would have been a key factor in a possible away win at Stoke. I don't hold out much hope now for that heppening. Let's hope though that as usual I will be proved wrong!

Since Nikko pulled out on here we have no "inside" clues as to what is happening at Kings.

Bit early for it too be called off aint it?

Not with all the rain we had Thursday night and then most of the day yesterday, better for it to be done now rather than have riders and supporters travelling all that way. I know a lot of people including me that would slam a promotion knowing the track was wet, soft and more rain due and they knew it was forecast petrol etc is expensive enough without travelling a long way for nothing or is it just because it's Stoke you've decided to have a dig??? :)

Sorry there won't be updates from tonight's meeting Elliot has the meeting has been postponed :)

Kent Kings team:

Steve Boxall, David Mason Rider Replacement, Connor Coles, Benji Compton, Ben Morley, Adam Kirby, Jack Kingston, Team Manager: Jack Lee

Just to confirm 'gustix' - the meeting has been POSTPONED.

Many thanks Bryn. Obviously I didn't see the postponement message. I sent my reply at 12.00 and the postponement note came at 12.01 - when I was closing down so obviously, not being a mind reader, I didn't see it until a few moments ago. But it's good to know that you are keeping a watchful eye - and hopefully enjoying  - my posts. :approve:

I wonder if we'll ever know why David Mason was not going to ride at Stoke?

Anyone know if there's a rearranged date for this match yet? Stoke website can't help as it's apparently been 'suspended'...

Yes, I know this link isn't of any use speedway-wise but "the other sport' that operates there is still active.

http://startrax.info.../stoke-stadium/

The cars are there this weekend and again on September 28 which this month leave just September 21. Otherwise the Stoke v Kent Kings will need an October date but again I suppose it depends if Startrax has the venue in use on some Saturdays that month as well? It appears they are there on Saturday October 12 so it starts to narrow down Kings visit in a period when bad weather is increasing likely with just three Saturday dates free for speedway that month.

Well Sept 21st out of the frame as that's the NLRC at Rye House.

Are Stoke allowed to stage matches on a Sunday? That might be a possibility - I am fairly sure they do have this option. The sooner the match is arranged and raced the better - the weather is now really taking on that autumnal aspect.

Yes Stoke can stage meetings on Sundays - they did so with the NL4s just a few weeks ago in fact.

Is it viable though, to follow a Stock Car meeting which can be, er, challenging to track conditions (especially, as you say, in these autumnal conditions) with a Speedway meeting less than 24 hours later..?

Valid point but as the old saying goes "it will all come out in the wash...!"

Stoke track takes the hammer from everybody when it's "prepared", so after a stocks meeting it should not make that much difference because someone will always be on here complaining about something at Stoke....cup of tea is too hot or the wind was blowing in the wrong direction.
