BluPanther
Lull them into a false sense of security - all part of the masterplan! Be nice if the reserves can actually beat an opponent once tho, that's a bit worrying..

Baldyman
Reserves can win you meetings and tonight Edinburgh reserves totally outclassed and outscored ours by a long way. From the scores it looked like a solid team effort from Edinburgh. Well done to them. Glad Barker is back, looks straight up to speed already. Young51
Monarchs were fantastic tonight & the manner of Ipswich's pumping was very pleasing Every one of the lads were up for this one right from the start & Witches seemed kinda shellshocked tbh..Adam Ellis said as much on twitter. Ben BooHoo Barker probably rode as well as he ever has round the Dale to be fair, but apart from Lanham and Risager had no support, though young Heeps did at least try very hard for little reward.Hope Tungate is going to be ok as he seemed to take a sore one..a hand injury i was told. All in all i could get used to this tuesday night speedway malarky lol..enjoyable racing and a great win for the blue & gold Oh,and Barker being sent away in a right strop..result!! Mr Blobby
Ben Barker is back............. then gone before the meeting has even finished! poor lad haha Well CL your boys took one hell of a beating!!! Only really Lanham, Risager and sort off Barker were on the pace the rest rotten. Now onto the home boys Cook majestic, Derek was Derek, Theo was fast apart from 15, wee joe was fast all night and deserved more than the 5 he got, Claus had one of his better armadale performances, Young liam was very impressive again and Max was fantastic and never looked like he had been away. Got to laugh at CL when tungate fell he was out kicking the dirt at the 3rd bend and looking at it as there was something wrong with it, trying to find an excuse as always!
cyclone
With acknowledgement (and apologies) to legendary sports commentator Bjørge Lillelien: "Creepy Chris Louis, Sappy Pete Simmons, we have beaten them all, we have beaten them all. Alex Salmond can you hear me? Alex Salmond........ your boys gave Ipswich a hell of a beating! Your boys gave the Suffolk Softies a hell of a beating!" dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Well done to the Monarchs - seems like a thoroughly determined and clinical performance from them tonight.

Well the "Sky Track Expert" spent about 30 minutes on the track analysing the terrain from half six, with his manservant, Jeeves Simmons, hanging over the fence admiring his Master's diligence. Looks like this pre-match managerial charade failed miserably

I noticed that too..i half expected him to get his Sky Magic Marker pen thingy out and tell poor Rohan where he'd gone wrong !!I always had a lot of respect for Chris Louis as a rider, but as a manager/promoter things like this, and his behaviour and general whinging at the Premier League Fours show him up in a very poor light i'm afraid..he does a great impersonation of an unsporting tornfaced radge tbh.. If caring about rider safety is whinging, then i wish all promoters were whingers. Chris was probably the only promoter there that knew the riders were in danger, he's forgotten more about speedway than most who run this sport will ever know. When ex riders that know what they are talking about start running the sport in ths country the better. What has been done about these unsafe air fences? Even when a world champion gets seriously injured, the idiots that run the sport in this country still do nothing. I suppose we've got to wait until someone gets killed before something is done about it. A caring promoter that doesn't want to see riders get injured, or some bloke with a cheque book that runs a team for a hobby, i know which one i prefer, and i'm sure the majority of true speedway fans would agree, even the majority of Edinburgh supporters (but obviously not you).
Super Blue
Battered like the proverbial piece of cod from your local chippy springs to mind ! ( sorry haddock in Och aye the noo Ville ) A team is never going to win when only 3 riders have turned up ( scoring wise ) and lets be honest Edinburgh were alway going to up for this one big time after what happened at Foxhall with Cookie . The Witches have suffered a worse defeat this season at Worky and gone back to win on a second visit so all is not lost . Btw , the " let the excuses begin " comment from Nutz , is that directed at us on here or the Witches management ? I think you'll find most of us on here these days will accept defeat graciously and acknowledge that we lost to the better team which was obviously the case last night . Still , Thursday should be quite an interesting encounter now so bring it on and hopefully the weather will be kind to us . I totally agree with you about wishing there were more caring promoters v some (not all) the cheque book brigade..that was harshly illustrated on monday night at Belle Vue.Unfortunately in reality we do need 'fans with cheque books' or there would be a lot less tracks running than we do.I'm sure most have the riders safety at heart. However..in the instance of CL at the Peterborough Fours he made a total twonk of himself tbh..trying to change the rules of the sport that everyone has to abide with mid-meeting is not on and shows he is either a wee bit arrogant or naive im not sure which. He may i suspect have great knowledge about the sport and as i said earlier i respect that, but to say that we should have just acceded to his wishes just because of that is ridiculous! There were other equally knowledgeable people in the pits that day as well you know Personally i think he was trying to gain what he perceived as an advantage for his team but hey ho.. Anyway as was subsequently proved none of the regrettable incidents that day were down to tyres..all CL's posturing/whinging achieved was another half an hours tanning time for the crowd Anyways..onwards & upwards!I really hope thursday nights match at Foxhole between a full 7 rider Monarchs team this time is a classic for the fans ..bring it oan Edited September 11, 2013 by Young51

Al Stewart
I must say I like the generally sporting reaction of the Witches fans to last night's fairly heavy defeat, given that there has been a certain amount of niggle between the sides in the last couple of years. Let's hope winners and losers on Thursday night are equally gracious. Both teams have contributed hugely to one of the most fascinating seasons I can remember, as far as the PL goes. Along with Somerset, Newcastle, Workington etc. Edited September 11, 2013 by Al Stewart

Has there in the last 35 years or so ever been such a combination of teams winning away from home at will?
