Rye House V Workington (premier League)... 7th September @7pm

Recommended Posts

Having another look at the league table and its looking pretty scary as to who will get in playoffs for 5th and 6th, if we get nothing at Rye (most probs not) then we really need Newcastle to beat Leicester on Sunday at Brough park, otherwise the pressure is on for Mondays meeting against Edinburgh at home  , nothing less than a win will do !!

Don't want to be relying on it but if Redcar lose at Rye next weekend we make it.

Didn't see much in that Redcar side that lost heavily to Rye House last week to worry about.

In all honesty it would take something pretty catastrophic to stop the Comets getting thru to the play off's, cant see Redcar getting 4pts from Rye next week, (or us for that matter ;) ) so the battle is between they and Leicester for my money? :t:

how is the weather down there?

I'm a few miles to the south where we've had some light showers. Still a few dark clouds about, but plenty of blue sky and bright sunshine.

BBC weather forecast is usually pretty reliable

Over to Bolly, our Hoddesdon weatherman with the local weather... Good afternoon Bolly

Sorry for the delay Chris, was out in the garden building an Ark  Actually its been a bit drizzley earlier, but now its fine and looks good for the rest of the day. Now back to the studio in Southgate. Pre match inspection will be at 5.30pm in Rye (pub) :drink:

Only 5 home heat winners is pretty poor. Expected an away win before the start of heat 15, but GT Lawson missed the gate and was nowhere. Comets had their gating boots on and looked more up for it. Poor performance from Howarth cost them an away win. Apathy amongst the Rye fans. Rockets just weren't at the races and it showed.

Comets should be disappointed not to have taken the win. They'll never have a better chance to win at Rye House.

Didn't expect this result but I'll take it especially after predicting an away loss!!

Still, as I've said before and Shadders just confirmed, no matter how bad some Rye riders perform, we can always match them and allowed an almost certain win to disappear, when we learn to kill off the opposition by taking advantage of their weaknesses, that will be the time the Comets start to achieve the success we crave!! :t:

Last heat decider again and poor old Rich just cant get it right, points aplenty up til that point and.... bang, misses the gate again Rye off the hook? Still, better performances from Kyle/Chris and we are not in that position, perhaps not quite the same pressure and it could have been so different?

But, it is what it is and a draw is better than a loss, confirms Comets play off place, not that that was in any doubt, so Edinburgh on Monday and that wraps up our Lg for this year after that, well, how long will it take to figure out who plays whom, where and when will be the talking points. Into the rainy season now people so let's not start messing about putting meaningless matches on, lets get cracking with the important stuff, pressure off now for us lets go to work? ;)

Just to pi$$ Comets fans off, Ken of T2TV posted a still of the finish of the race where you can clearly see Rusty finish ahead of the Rockets rider, turning a Comets 4-2 into a 3-3 :D
