Lord Antebellum
Correct me if I am wrong, but you have support all riders at the club in various ways over the years? I maybe don't agree with you very often, but I thought the previous poster was out of order, and unfair towards you. And I apologise. I accept I was misinformed. Moving things on, is it known how much was raised on Saturday night for Ricky? And how much has the supporters club raised for him with their wrist bands? YAMYAMBANDIT
Correct me if I am wrong, but you have support all riders at the club in various ways over the years? I maybe don't agree with you very often, but I thought the previous poster was out of order, and unfair towards you. David Meldrum, Simon Cartright, Kevin Doolan, Adrian Rymel, Michal Makovsky, Josef Franc,Andreas Bergstrom, Tamas Sike, Tero Aarnio,Ricky Ashworth all of these individually, sorry if I have missed someone. For the last 5 seasons, every rider in the team got their OAKLEY GOGGLES, tear offs and lenses, supplied by Taffys Time Machine, the basis was, if you don't ask you don't get, most asked mind. Nothing like a bit of free advertising though.

And how much has the supporters club raised for him with their wrist bands? not sure how much was raised on night but regarding the wristbands there were started and continued by the efforts of the Bandits 2012 Group who were sponsoring ricky for this season as well as giving help to the rest of the team
Lord Antebellum
not sure how much was raised on night but regarding the wristbands there were started and continued by the efforts of the Bandits 2012 Group who were sponsoring ricky for this season as well as giving help to the rest of the team OK, we would expect promotion will announce how much was raised at and around the meeting. Can someone from the supporters club say how the money from the bands is going?
Fromafar
OK, we would expect promotion will announce how much was raised at and around the meeting. Can someone from the supporters club say how the money from the bands is going? I sure I heard over the tannoy that they had raised over £10,000 before the meeting, perhaps someone could clarify that. crescent girl
Latest Newsletter has some great news... The club is just awaiting a few final sponsorship payments before finalising the accounting for the big Benefit meeting last month, but it is now clear the total figure, when independently audited, will exceed an amazing amount of £15,000. Organiser Dennis McCleary said 'It can never be enough, can it? However, it is money which wouldn't have been available to Ricky if we hadn't, with Sheffield's help, staged the big night. I have spoken with Dave Ashworth, and everyone seems very happy. As well as the riders, the volunteer staffing and things like free rent, ambulance cover and insurance we had extra help from folk who came in as independent gate checkers and suchlike, George English and his mum from Newcastle, off-duty licensed officials Willie Dishington and John Jack, plus of course all our own crew. Thanks, folks!' When a precise final total is declared, it will be announced by the Berwick and Sheffield clubs. To avoid a very real risk of tax implications down the line, the funds raised will be passed through the marvellous Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund (SRBF) who are ring-fencing all donations specified as being for Ricky Ashworth and who can then (as a registered charity) disburse the money to Ricky without fear of governmental interference.
