Elephantman
It may sound a bit naive of me but I'd assumed that people would be more interested in getting off there backsides to support the fund raising for Ricky rather than postulating on who may or may not turn up. I'm confident that that is what the true speedway supporters who are able to will do; they will turn out, pay their money and enjoy what I'm sure will be a good nights entertainment. This is one thread where I feel I'll get full support by saying, "if you have nothing positive to post; post nothing!".

How true, I think those negative posters will be feeling rather embarrassed now, and rightly so.IMO,just like the Ben Fund meeting, this is one of those occasions where you support the event and the reasons behind the event instead of bitching about who may or may not be there. Where are the negative posts? i mustve missed those this meeting should be supported to the hilt by as many people as possible i will support it even if it is 2 National league teams competeing, so i hope you are not referring to me about negativity? because it is you who should be feeling embarressd for telling someone they had posted a daft post then trying to wriggle out of it by saying the ben fund was 6 months ago it matters not one jot when it was the so called super stars did not turn up so in fact what they were saying was totally true. now lets get back to speedway and you can apoligise to Lord Ante in your own time..

bigeddiechek
Don't worry fairplay, it's just Screm indulging himself in a bit of cyber-self-importance again. Allow him the pleasure, as this is what a forum is for. Anyway, should be a good meeting, and I'm sure it will be very well attended. There are lots of great things being organised to raise funds for Ricky, it shows the great spirit within the speedway world

screm
Super gesture from the Berwick Rangers Supporters Club, who have said they want no rent from the speedway for this meeting, meaning they get the stadium for free.
crescent girl
Quite interested in seeing how the teams will be boosted. Both clubs have had their season ruined by injury, so quite a few spaces. It was announced on Saturday that there will be three (?) riders wearing black-and-gold who have not previously represented the Bandits. Lord Antebellum
As I get Berwick bulletins by e-mail (why don't more clubs do this?) I have received news of your Saturday line-ups. Some interesting names there, that's for certain!
BigRackBandit
For the benefit of those who haven't subscribed yet, what are the line ups?
crescent girl
Makes signing up all the more sensible, as it is free -- they're giving away a five-meeting free pass for next season -- and as was emphasised repeatedly on Saturday night, there are times when subscribers will learn information faster than on website, etc. Including, it seems, this time! luluthetiger
Just beat me to it, B4E! Not sure why earlier correspondent didn't check club website, it's there OK. As is the link for people to sign up for the newsletter! Looks pretty easy, this Tiger is going to try it out. If only for the free tickets. Hansen was great for Peterbro in 2009 and has had excellent season in Danish Super League and has been riding for Krakow in Poland. Hansen scored 10 beating some big names in the Danish Team Championship last week.Jamrog has been riding recently for Lodz I think in Polish Division One and clocked a 15 point maximum recently and am sure won Ukraine Open although not earth shattering. As for Berge he was in European U 21 Semi and scored 9 or 10 Rides lots grass meetings in France and was in their TWTC squad?

When they didn't announce the line up on Saturday night, I did a quick straw poll of 25 fans sitting arround me. 13 had the internet available, 6 however didn't use it, only 5 had facebook. Extensive use of the internet for promotion of events, deprives approx half of fans of information, if it is not announced on the night. Just look around you at a speedway meeting, and look at the age bands, I think that group of people deseve better information, other than the internet, after all they are the paying public and without them we would not have speedway. Nothing wrong with using the internet as part of informing fans, the local press is another. Berwick fans come from all over, S.E Scotland, N/E.England and all over the Borders so not every medium works. I am fully aware of the effect of the internet on my business, however it is still only 15% who buy on line, so it must be that 85% still buy from shops, but I must still be aware of the effect on my business from the internet. That announcement could have been made on Saturday night for those fans that do not have the internet, they surely deserve that concideration.
