Stoke 'Hartshill Cycles ' Spitfires defeated the Kings Lynn Lightning by just two points in a dramatic final heat victory. Kings Lynn were hampered early on when they lost Adam Kirby in heatvone with Stoke's Charles Wallace causing Kirby and Tedham to fall and resulting in his exclusion. Kings Lynn opted to use Josh Bailey in place of Kirby and bit proved to be a fruitful decision with victory coming over Tedham who suffered some rib pain from the crash and Phillips in third.

The Spitfires faught back in the next heat before three tied heats leaving the score level going into the final heat.

Lee Payne gated well to see off Ryan Terry-Daley and Shaun Tedham chasing hard in third.

Team manager Mike Gittings said ' It was a close meeting and could have gone either way in the last heat but credit to Lee and Shaun who had already done the main meeting. Sam scored well to give good support and Charles picked up some usefull points in his last race, it was a great team effort." "We would like to pass our best wishes on to Adam Kirby and wish him a speedy recovery."
