StevePark
You can tell that by the helmet colours If it's a reserve swap, you have no idea until it's announced. Although they may (the majority) look good, I'm for individual kevlars (mainly for the above reason, but other reasons too). Just my preference.

It's nice to have all team kevlars but it's ridiculous expecting someone like Lewis Rose to have to buy one, I heard somewhere that they were about £6000 each I think there should be team vest things but not whole kevlars, unless the club is prepared to buy them for the riders.

I think you are a bit high there - more like £600. I would have thought that club is supplying them if they are insisting team wears them?? Just had a quick search and found some around £375 - getting cheaper! Edited March 19, 2014 by northyorksbear

HadrianDog
Sorry, but this whole anti team kevlars topic is symptomatic of what is wrong with our sport. Too many of our fans lark back to to halconey days instead of realising that this sport must and I repeat must move forward or die. The modern generation embrace a team ethic rightly or wrongly based on 'the strip' and to ignore this is stupidity. Thankfully the Diamonds management realise the marketing potential of this and long may it continue.

The most important thing is that their sponsors are visible and even if they are kitted out as a 'team' their bike covers usually identify them as an individual on track, don't think I've ever had a major issue seeing who is who with visiting teams in 'team' kevlars! The term is 'halcyon days' BTW!

As is quite often the case, the main team sponsor coughs up the dosh for team kevlars - they are the ones who are plastered all over the front of them. You are miles off. What are they made out of? Diamonds? We paid £350ish last season for 1, but I'd imagine the price varies a bit depending on the company, but never ever ever ever ever ever as high as £6000. I would like to see how many Tracks would survive relying on the 'younger generation'. Your final sentence is just insulting.
