Newcastle Diamonds 2014

Personally I would rather have Ludvig back than Tully. Tully is a great team man and more consistent than Ludvig but personally I think he's reached his level as a 7 point man. Ludvig may have done as well, time will time, but he's younger and still has the potential to put a couple of points on his average. That said I'm not sure we can afford to go with two Swedes in the side both from the cost perspective and the possibility of both being unavailable at times. I would also like Henry back in the side if he's 100% fit. Not convinced that Richie will be back either, wonder if he'll be looking at riding abroad on a Sunday next year which is fair enough. Having Lewis back would be a massive boost but I worry again that we'll lose out to a Southern side as we did with Kyle and North. Plenty of options for the promotion and no reason why we won't have a strong side again next year.

I would be VERY sad to see Tully leave - it would not bother me one jot if Lindgren went.

C'mooooooooooon the Lean, Mean Racing Machine - that is - ANDREW TULLY. :t:

was not expecting that :blink::o

I agree with a lot of what you say, but as regard to Tully and Lindgren, Tully is a great team man - Lindgren is for Lindgren, extra points could have been earned for the team had he helped his team mate out from time to time and team ridden - once in front he never looks back. Lindgren did himself no favours last weekend when he trailed in last, then pulled a wheelie down the back straight........something to celebrate eh ? I would like to see Henry and Robbo back next season if fully fit, along side Rosen and Tully, and Kerr of course is a must, with Worrall looking likely to move on. Just my humble opinion of course, but it's a thumbs down regarding Ludvig from me.

"The Mackem"

By the sounds of Lindgrens bike i think he was lucky to roll round to get the extra point

If Richie moves on then

1. Andrew Tully 7.39

2. Lewis Kerr 5.45

3. Ludvig Lindgren 7.39

4. Jacob Thorsell 7.06

5. Anton Rosen 7.00

6. Robert Lambert 3.00

7. Henning Bager 5.21

OR

1. Kenneth Hansen 8.50

2. Lewis Kerr 5.45

3. Jacob Thorsell 7.06

4. Anton Rosen 7.00

5. Andrew Tully 7.39

6. Robert Lambert 3.00

7. Charles Wright 4.05

i would go for -

kerr, rosen worral, henry, robson as definites and build the team around them, agree lindgren is inconsistant but lacks the knowledge of bike setup but would prefer him to tully,

worral isnt ready to leave premier league as his away form isnt amazing and he still needs to improve his passing skills imo probably because he gates so often he doesnt have to pass riders

It's NOT just the Points that Andrew Tully scores the fact that he TEAM RIDES other Riders in to scoring Points as well. You certainly could NEVER accuse Lindgren of TEAM RIDING.

Lindgren and Tully BOTH have identical averages - but crucially, how many extra Points has Lindgren helped people to score? - NIL I would reckon. Tully quite a lot I would expect.

Who therefore is of MORE VALUE to the TEAM - simple - Andrew Tully.

I would be gutted if he left and Lindgren stayed.

i agree but ludvig has more potential imo he just needs to learn about bike setup where as tully wont improve as hes been at the same level for a few years now SIMPLE!

Tully is a Team man - Lindgren ISN'T!! End of story as far as I am concerned.

Oh - and all of this 'potential' that Lindgren is supposed to have - he hasn't improved that much for Newcastle on last Season - and Newcastle is the Team that I am interested in.

He seems to do good when he is not riding in Sweden, i just think he races too much

Great rider, Great personality but no stamina or consistency

But if i had the choice between the two it would defo be tully because he is more consistant, more of a team man, more experienced, less expensive and he is british

Spot on... Personally think theres more to come from lindgren. Tullys been a 7 pointer for years now

Just think though how expensive it is to keep ludvig and then how much it is to keep tully,

i think from two evenly matched riders i think unfortunately tully would be picked over lindgren just for the cost

Team riding means little these days the two best riders i saw put on a wasps bib watson and gjedde certainly didnt team ride and ifthey did it was very rare it didnt do them any harm

No but the fact that Andrew Tully is GOOD at it and can do it well, on the same Average as a Rider who doesn't, surely makes him worth that little bit more.

Depends on both riders potential

I see a lot more in lindgren than tully but i dont watch them each week

I DO watch them every week ThePinstripe.

I am prepared to accept that maybe, in the future Lindgren MAY be a better Rider than Tully. At present he isn't as is proved by the Averages, he is the same. The BIG plus for Newcastle and for Tully is that, as I have said before, Tully is a damned good Team Rider. It may be/is a dying art in Speedway but I still like to watch it. Done well it really adds to the Meeting for me. Tully does it well - and long may he continue to do so.
