Newcastle Diamonds 2014

and the solution is,,,

Rearrange our fixtures that clash. Be upset mind, if KL do a rearranged fixture which clashes, and still get priority over the team who signed them first. We shall see.

Yep, the problem is when it precipitates with rain all summer and meetings have to be re-arranged. Lets hope the weather behaves!

To be honest who signed them first shouldn't come into it......parent club takes priority unless their fixture is re-arranged to clash with a fixture of the loaning club, in which case parent club has to find guests.

It always has in the past Baggy. A loan deal means you own that rider for the duration of the deal, either 28days or 1 year. If you them loan the rider to say an NL team, or on to another PL team, the asset owner has no say in it and doesn't get any of the loan deal payments.

Yep thats fair enough, my comments referred to the 'new agreement' of the parent club having priority.

For me its the best way, whichever league the parent club is in. But as you say rearranged fixtures should then be the lowest priority for the rider regardless.

Anyway, I think you have a good un in Lewis Rose.....we saw him blossom for the Young Stars last year, going from a raw lad who kept falling off to an accomplished second string. Wouldn't be suprised to see him take a few scalps a la Lewi Kerr next year in the PL (and hopefully EL).

Agree. I saw a large score, something like 15 points the first meeting I had seen his name in, and I have followed his progress ever since. It is a good start for MX lads as they adapt very well, the same way the grassers used to when grassing was a bit bigger. We certainly got a top rider and person when we got Kerr, just hope that Rose has a similar start as Kerr had. There is always something good about seeing good riders go from unknowns to top riders while they ride for you, even better if they are assets of course. We once had a young kid called Nicki you know. :P

Except that that comment is about 4 years out of date. Riders and the refs give our track the thumbs up for preparation, and that is fact.

In his/her defence, I think ruffdiamond was having a go at others who have a go about our track (because they have nothing else to contribute to the thread - I believe it's called 'trolling').

Re praise to Jonny Swales. Another one of our track men, Robbie Best, seems to do a helluva lot of work without much praise. Just thought I would praise him here.

Rob drives one of the tractors, is involved with repairing damage to the fence after an accident and is often seen on windy nights recovering the dog track and he probably does a whole lot more.

I have watched speedway at Brough for years and Rob is a familiar face/pair of legs as his screen name "Men in Shorts"!!!. I like to salute good work and agree that Johnny Swales is doing a great job but Robbie is too. I am sure other workers do a great job too and long may they continue on our track, to once and for all get us away from this "Rough" Park image. Brough has been great for a couple of years.

I salute track men up and down the country, we wouldn't get our entertainment without your efforts

because in MX there's about 30 off them to beat off the start grid, so they have to be lol

Agreed. When you see a start, the 30 riders have to funnel into a gap for the first bend, which is maybe only about 4 bike widths wide.

Does anyone remember in the 1970s a bump going into the 3rd bend. It was there for ages and Robbie Blackadder hit it every time he rode but to his credit it never seemed to bother him.

Now at Brough we are treated to full throttle overtakes on bend two and four, so much for Brough being hard to ride! Johnny and his trackstaff colleagues take a bow

Bad riders hit problems on the outside at Brough but good riders get around it and that is entertainment 100%

I am a fan of Ludvig (when he is in the mood!) he can motor around the outside as well as any other I have seen. I hope he continues to do this in 2014. Anton too showed at the end of the season that he had sussed out an outside line. Gaters and white line riders have their own talents, but a rider who misses the start and goes out wide to catch and overtake is what I pay my money to see.

So my hopes go to Johnny and the trackstaff give us a good racing surface for 2014 and let the riders do the rest

Best outside line man at Brough was James Grieves in his pomp. Pulled off some moves that were almost beyond belief. As a 4th bend spectator I was privileged to witness most of these through my fingers :o

Rene was pretty darn good before his injury too.

I think you will see more of the old Rene on his visits to Brough next year, you could tell last year he was getting his mojo back and I reckon he will really kick on next year

you know what I mean,,, anyone can fly round Brough full throttle,,, probly not for very long like !!!

it's good to add some skill and throttle control into it, good use of the wrist,,, but there's many on here will know all about that, lol

Derek Richardson was good to watch on outside blasts, until he hit the bump, n bust his leg, was never the same after that :-(
