Newcastle Diamonds 2014

Recommended Posts

I don't know why anyone thinks Craig Cook is a possible signing. I would assume he'll be back at Edinburgh although personally I can't see anything for him to gain riding PL other than easy money. He needs to be riding in Poland & Sweden if he is to progress there is nothing left for him to achieve at PL level.

Good luck to Richie. He needs another year in the PL but if he can get a deal in the Polish first division then it's the right move.

Plenty of options for the Diamonds, no need to panic. Lewis is the key signing - probably even more so than Richie to be honest.

Al Stewart says (on another thread) "He's very keen to ride abroad but because of his EL average he is rated at the same level as GP riders in both Sweden and Denmark, so hasn't secured a place there. He has offers from Poland but possibly from clubs where other riders have had problems".

Seems strange Steve going to Edinburgh after claiming he was looking for a team.... Meaning we either didnt go for him or couldnt agree terms if we did...or of course he didnt want to come back....Intrigued to know who our reserves will be.

Well the last couple of years we've went with largely unknown 3 pointers.... Maybe we'll pull another rabbit out the hat this time

Given Robert Lambert is friendly with Lewis Kerr I wonder if he is a possibility ?

Only problem would be if King's Lynn have Kerr & Lambert at reserve, they probably would not wish both riding for the same PL side.

If Berwick use Carr instead of Starke, then PS might be a target.

Likewise if Ellis is not in Ipswich plans, he's worth considering.

given the progress Kerr has made at newcastle they may encourage it... Hopefully :)

A VERY good option. I have just about forgiven him for lying on the Track in the Berwick Meeting last Season. :t:

Strength in depth

1. Stuart Robson 7.20

2. 6.35

3. Ulrich Ostergaard 6.52

4. David Howe 6.34

5. Anton Rosen 7.00

6. Robert Lambert 3.00

7. Lewis Kerr 6.09

Dunno how much Lewis being at reserve sacrifices the rest of the team or weather its worth it but how about this for LK being at reserve.

ged away .... Your guess is everyone and anyone :)

well then we can finally agree on something

If Nedermark fits the 6.35 then selection 34,167 is the best yet from Diamonds!! wink

So the other twin is going to Armadale, good luck Steve we all think you have it in you to be a great rider. Nothing yet about any riders Newcastle are bringing in. Well George we are waiting for you to build our 2014 team. Personally, I was entertained by Chris Schramm so I hope he will be included in the side. Yes I know what Schrammies short comings are but still would like to watch him in 2014. Lewi Kerr if signed should go on to occupy 1 3 or 5 positions later in the season but he still needs time to develop further into a heatleader.

So are we going for a 9 point plus number 1 or will it be a strong in depth side again. My only problem with that is when heats 13 and 15 come around a top number 1 will get us at least 3 points in these difficult heats.

Looking forward to some news about incoming riders not outgoing ones

If we kept the 'other' 6 that finished the season we would be left with 4.22 (Ludo 7.28, Robbo 7.20, Andy 7.19, Anton 7.00, Lewi 6.09, Scrammy 3.52). Christian would come in on 7.07, (but would leave Ludo as number 1).
