Edinburgh V Somerset (koc-sf) 30/8/13 @ 7.30pm

Recommended Posts

The monarchs went down by 8 to an impressive Rebels side on Tuesday so it should be a cracker on Friday as the boys in blue & gold try to pull back the deficit. So it should be an absolute cracker of a meeting.

Vissing is hoping to be all good for Friday and we are yet to name a guest for the injured Davey. While Somerset have sacked both reserves in a shock move and brought in Charles Wright and Lewis Rose. This should make the rebels even tougher opponents as Wright will probably score more than the previous reserve pairing did on their last appearance, this will make the rebels favourites to go through.

Teams for Friday

Edinburgh

  1. Craig Cook
  2. Max Fricke
  3. Theo Pijper
  4. Joe Tabaka
  5. Claus Vissing
  6. Liam Carr (G)
  7. Derek Sneddon

Somerset

  1. Jason Doyle
  2. Kyle Newman
  3. Josh Grajczonek
  4. Alex Davies
  5. Nick Morris
  6. Lewis Rose
  7. Charles Wright

Monarchs will probably lose this tie as the result of messrs Vissing & Bates being the innocent injury victims of last Friday's match.

As a result, Somerset are in the right place at the right time, which happens in the swings and roundabouts in Speedway.

Hopefully we will still witness racing as good as the league match against the Rebels a fortnight ago.

You cannot seriously believe Edinburgh will lose this tie.

In the bag!

We have to win by more than the 8 points margin in the league match, but Bates who scored 7, will be replaced ano NL guest who is unlikely to score more than a couple of points at best, and even if Vissing rides, how fit will he be ?

Somerset reserves scored 3 between them, last time, expect Wright to score more than that himself.

So being realistic, Somerset should be expected to score more than 42 tomorrow and therefore win on aggregate.

Think you're both being a tad pessimistic about your own riders stepping up to the plate.

It used to mean a two-legged re-run if a KO Cup-tie was drawn. Recently, some competitions have gone over to the Golden Heat to decide. Afraid I don't know an answer -- but, hopefully, it will be announced before tomorrow night's match begins!

Thanks

Liam Carr will be at number 6 tomorrow for the monarchs weather doesn't look to good for tomorrow night but will hopefully brighten up by then.

Carr is declared as a Berwick NL double up at reserve, together with Starke.

Was under impression that guests for number 7 in averages, excluded any rider from another PL team, including NL double ups, or do different rules apply for the KO Cup
