I don't think you can count having an accident as failing Marcus. What you do for these kids is a huge undertaking and greatly appreciated, one year of unavoidable cancellation has to be taken in the context of the years you have and will run.

Thanks for your explanation Marcus. Like others have said, you have no need to blame yourself for the failure of the tour not running this year. I know how much you do, and the reasons you do it, these things happen in life and we all have to get on with it.

Let's get you back fit to enjoy your life, and hopefully maybe think about a tour again next year. :P I might even be an interested spectator next year. ;)

Marcus, if life throwing crap at you is failing then everyone has failed. What you have done already for the young Brits on the previous tours proves you have not failed at all. Theres been a blip and I'm sure everyone involved understands that. All the best for your recovery and fingers crossed you're in a position to continue with the scholarship in the future

I wonder why Marcus is left all alone with all the work to organise such a tour for the young British Lions. Is there nobody who could help? This surely should be done in co-operation with someone in the UK, and that person is the Team GB team manager. The organisation and management of such a tour should be dealt with by officals from the speedway federations of both nations.

I wonder how such tours were organised in the past with accomodation, transport and all that for the official British Lions tours to Australia in the 1960's and 1970's ?

Sure those were other times and the big city speedway promotions in Aussie had much more money to spent. Nowadays money fro solo speedway promotios is tight, but then again only about ten years ago we had an official Young British Lions team doing a highly successful Australian tour. How did they organise and manage this?

To be fair these tours are not officially sanctioned in the same way as the previous official representative teams. I believe it is a private venture which Marcus took onboard and who, with friends, has made such a great success. Of late, the BSPA has started to part sponsor it, so there is an input and a very welcome input. All power to Marcus and Co and lets hope for another successful tour next year.

Marcus, you are in NO way to blame, indeed you, your wife, and your various friends and sponsors have done a tremendous job over the years, and Im sure every rider who has taken part, owes you a debt of gratititude, bcuz were it not for you,and your team, none of the previous tours would have taken place, its better to have tried and failed, than not to have tried at all, Yes some things were insurmountable this year, but dont blame yourself in any way. Marcus hope you are soon 100%, enjoy your Christmas, and have a good New year, we are all rooting for you.
