MrB
Nothing better than seeing Screeny trying to get round a whole lap of Arlington on the back wheel after a race win, miss those days, a true entertainer. Good luck Joe
tyretrax
I have to say that I am very disappointed with Joe's decision to stop racing. According to the Glasgow site he is out injured, what's the truth?
JC!
I have to say that I am very disappointed with Joe's decision to stop racing. According to the Glasgow site he is out injured, what's the truth? Joe is out with a damaged hand, and a broken finger which means that he wont be fit before the end of the season. As he had planned to retire at the end of the season this means he is effectively retired, so both are true. I am certain that Joe would be more disappointed than anyone that he could not see out the final few weeks of his career. Edited August 25, 2013 by JC! emerald tyke
Absolutely loved watching "the Screen Machine" with tassles on leathers and his legtrailing flying around the boards at Odsal with the Dukes......maybe there'll be an opening for Joe there if Tony Mole manages to resurrect the Dukes!! (hopefully!!) in a behind the boards capacity. Enjoy your retirement Joe
Starman2006
Lovely Touch by Neil last night in wishing Joe all the best in his retirement. Bloke..
albyhere
I don't usually comment on blokes who retire as it's a common enough event but for a superb rider like Joe Screen, I'd make an exception any day of the week. Joe you are quite simply one of the best riders I have EVER had the privilege of watching in my almost 70 years. I can't think of another rider who was so 'planted ' on the track you looked as if even a bomb couldn't shift you when you were flying round. I wish you every happiness in your retirement and thank you for the pleasure of seeing a magnificent sportsman on top of his game and excitement personified. All the best big man.

Rob B
That would be true for the huge majority of his career but I recall him knocking Jimmy Neilsen off his bike after a race had finished. It was live on Sky. A good rider over the years and enjoyable to watch. I believe that one was at Hull on the back straight. Yes it was, pretty sure it was this meeting must be the heat 10 that is missing http://vimeo.com/72478918 Hard man Jimmy, where is he these days? When he retired he moved to Florida to set up a swimming pool business, don't know if he still there or not.
