2014 League /s

Not at all as I said there are plenty of leagues in the uk to show that you are good enough to be given a chance in a higher league, is a myth that just by putting young brits who are not good enough in El teams they will get better in most cases it sends them backwards

If the Wards of this world are not in the league and say you have the top level of rider of the calibre of Watt, King,Harris,.The gap between those riders and good PL/ D/uppers and PL second strings there is not a huge gap.Now is the ideal time to do it in,the EL it is at its weakest since the 90s do you suggest no change and carry on with a broken product? and that is with SKY'S capital being pumped in. I Expect a change that brings in more crowds not less ...that is where speedway has gone wrong never every idea put forward means that there be less crowds and more lost fans to the sport ..

You will find out when SKY no longer cover Speedway.

Perhaps THAT will get people off their combined backsides and go out, pay their money and watch some Speedway in the outdoors.

Actually - THAT is the best way to watch it anyway.

I doubt it ..all it will do it mean less people will know about the sport and even less new fans

If SKY is so good for Speedway - how come that Track Attendances are not bursting at the seams.

You can never gage how many there might have been over the years without it ...to me it's kept speedway alive I know the set of people who I watched it with came back to the sport because they saw it on sky and got the bug back .

Yet Gates, by and large, continue to fall.

I think it's been a double edged sword. The additional exposure is great, but the exposure and the money has been squandered. Now many tracks may be in the position that they can't live without it. If they hadn't had it in the first place, they would have done a better job at keeping expenses under control, and not be reliant on Sky for their survival.

Yes - but the British Leagues are so full of Foreigners that those BRITISH Premier League Riders do NOT get a chance in the Elite League to show what they can do. That is really my point. A Premier League Rider (British) would develop far quicker riding in a higher League. Only a limited number can do that these days because of the Foreigners.

This argument may be academic IF there is only one League next Season.

Just posted this on another topic page but seems relevant to your quote.

Bit difficult to answer as there are only about 42 British riders racing in the Elite & Premier Leagues. Out of a total of 161 riders.

Which BRITISH Premier League riders have not been given a chance in the Elite League this season?

OK then, which BRITISH Premier League riders want to ride full time in the Elite League, but haven't been given the opportunity this season?

That question is impossible to answer - as I suspect you know.

I do not know how every British Rider in the Premier/National Leagues feel about moving up a Division, and I reckon you don't either Matt. (no offense meant).

But you are so adamant there foreign riders are preventing British riders gaining experience in the Elite League. I am curious who these British riders are.

I am talking about as a Full Time Team Member - NOT a Part Time Double Upper.

The thing is TWK, almost all British riders (those that don't ride in Europe) want to ride in the EL & PL. There just isn't the finances available to be able to sustain EL speedway alone. I think I'm right in thinking that Eddie Kennett has even taken on a 2nd "real job" to help with finances.

I think the league structure needs to be worked around the race night's and try to avoid clashes. The UK needs to move away from racing every day of the week. It just can't continue.

Monday - UK

Tuesday - Sweden

Wednesday - Denmark

Thursday - UK

Friday - Denmark / Poland / SGP / Qualifiers practice

Saturday - SGP / Qualifiers

Sunday - Poland

Once you've established which clubs can do Monday or Thursday home matches is when we can look into a change in league structure.

If Glasgow can only do Sundays, Berwick Saturday's etc etc the North / South split is a none starter I'm afraid
