neb
can you not fit anders mellgren back in? scunthorpe seem to be on a roll at the moment and its looking like he might not be going back there, why change a winning team.
westhamboy66
I would have Lanham instead of TresTrouble is that Lanham gives you very little away from home, we are not great at home by any means but stable and maybe Leigh could improve the side there but when away istill think Tres is a better option.Thinks its all down to being inconsistent, if everyone clicked at Foxall the other night we would have won but i can't remember every rider producing in the same meeting this year

Rockets
God where to start! You are so right shadders. More and more loyal hardcore fans are calling it a day and you just can't see a way forward whilst Len stays in charge. Is it four years now since we had a competitive team. Even if he does make changes now the competitive season is effectively over. Well done Len. And as for the riders . . . The thing that hurts us fans is the apparent lack of pride in their performance. Part of that is the poor construction of the team which requires most to punch above their weight which in turn affects their confidence when they score badly but still. . . . Awful awful awful from each and everyone and as for Tress who signed a rider who will miss half your home matches and can only be replaced by a NL reserve. Some of the riders at least must read this forum. Please come on and explain to us fans.
Phil Silvers
Seems a little sad that the writing is on the wall at Rye. Havent been since the first meeting of the season and what with seeing the team getting ripped to pieces at home I have no wish too. I have been to Rye since I was a kid of 9 in 1974 up to its previous demise under Ronnie Russell. Maybe we were spolit during the early 2000's with the re-introduction of speedway at the 'house and then the jump up into the PL in 2003 with riders such as Nigel Sadler, Scott Robson, Brent Werner, then a year later Davy Watt, culminating in a Championship the following year with the likes of Danny King at reserve! We then poached a certain Tai Woffinden from Sheffield and it was a pleasure going every Saturday to watch that young kid race with the team winning the 2007 PL via the playoffs. Year on year since 2003 Rye improved their squad and the results showed. But the last three maybe four years performances have gone downhill dramatically and each year I have attended less and less. There used to be a buzz around Rye on a Saturday, Sky Sports used to visit to televise speedway now it seems to be dying on its feet. Wether its down to lack of young talent coming through the Rye ranks or the abolition of the Raiders or the fact Len has other interests in speedway now (Kent) it will be sad to see it disappear
Chris
The club is an embarrassment now and has been for a few years. The state it's in now, it won't even survive until Silver pops his clogs and someone else can take it on. He has done that much damage the club won't be here in two years time if he carries on. This from a club which owns its own track. Disgraceful
DrStrangelove
I have been reading these forums on a regular basis and am so disappointed that the speedway club I have loved watching since the early nineties has been reduced to such a level in all departments. Primarily, the racing has been dire for at least three seasons and I am not going to go into specific riders names, but Len Silver has totally mismanaged the team selection over this period of time. Whilst other teams have improved and developed there teams, we have just stood still or taken a backward step. But this season has to be the worst. The performance of the riders and management have been abysmal, the standard of catering in the fish shop is awful and overpriced for what you get, the toilets are disgusting, the PA system is non existent in parts of the ground. The venue is tired, the promotion is tired and bereft of ideas. We need a change of management/promotion, we need a complete change to the ethos of entertainment at the ground from the music to the interviewing of riders. Make your supporters feel like they are part of the club, not just money making numbers, allow them to have a say in how the club is run, start a supporters club, improve the foods on offer, make the announcements interesting and informative. Sorry for the rant, but I can not stand the idea of the club being run into the ground which is now happening. I suspect there is an a motive behind this but that is my personal belief. And finally I have attended Peterborough for the last six home meetings at the showground and have thoroughly enjoyed the meetings. Great racing, top class riders, enthusiastic support, great announcements. Ok it is a three hour round trip as opposed to the 20 minute round trip to Rye, but I am enjoying the nights so much and am entertained all night, plus a great choice of food. Ok rant over.
Shadders
Edinburgh, Newcastle & Somerset are comparable to us in some ways with a similar size crowd base, but one thing they have that we don't is an ambitious promotion. They've managed to put together trophy challenging sides for a good few years now, whereas we've been on the slide since the heady days of the mid 2000's. All three of those clubs are professionally run, whereas you get the feeling that Rye House is run as a hobby. I'll use Somerset as an example as I've paid a couple of visits there in recent weeks. The race programme is full of adverts which must bring in decent revenue. The impressive club house has a proper bar and the food outlets are decent and always busy. All this in what was just a farmers field less than 15 years ago. Any delays in proceedings are filled with rider interviews. Rye House has the feel of a club that's winding down and the promoter seems not to be bothered, not even listening to his own riders as to how they'd like the track to be prepared. Utter shambles
Rockets
Whilst perhaps a tiny bit drawn out Lukes testimonial showed a much better slant on meeting preparation. Interviews free attractions former riders , riders mixing with the crowd. I hope that Len took it all in and these things become regular features. Well done to all involved btw.

Well done to all involved btw.I was planning on posting something very similar. We stayed behind at the end for half an hour or so, even spent money in the bar. The vibe around the place was totally different to the dreary Saturday night experience we've become used to, more like the good old days of the mid 2000's. Makes a change seeing people walking around with smiles on their faces, apart from away fans. There's even talk of a Northern Tour revival next year. This is of course is dependant on us having a team worth following and finding someone daft enough to organise it all!! David Selby
The PL Fours is yet another major event without Rye Houae representation. There really is nothing to be proud of as a Rye House supporter at the moment.
Shadders
Speedway Star Twitter is reporting that Anders Mellgren & Oliver Greenwood have signed, replacing Matt Tresarrieu & Stefan Nielsen. This is as yet unconfirmed by the club
hackneyrocket
Hope this is true! Would be good for the club, Stefan hasn't pulled any trees up since he joined and Tres filled a gap left by Nelson. Don't want to be negative but it's too little too late in my opinion. Rteyp
Would be great to have Anders back, I like Stefan but hasn't had much of a chance yet to show his true ability and Bel Vue fixture clashes are a pain. Yes its all too late but at least it may make visits more entertaining....
