Berwick Bandits V Rye House Rockets (pl, Saturday 24th)

I think with regard to punching above our weight, several here have missed the point...

Shadders, you went to Exeter where you were usually rubbish, and thumped them.

Not that I'm insinuating anything :)

I have a new T-Shirt, THERE ARE THOSE WHO BELIEVE WHAT THEY ARE TOLD--THEN THERE ARE THOSE WHO ARE TOLD WHAT TO BELIEVE----THEN THERE IS ME

Hey Taffy, I believe what I am told.

So, I believe that you will be team manager next year.

;)

You're not suggesting Exeter threw the match are you Eddie? ;)

Rockets were high on confidence and had an excellent guest in Shaun Tacey, unbeaten as I recall. It still riles B4E every time I mention it. :D

Still ranks as the best tour I went on and one of the highlights of my 28 years supporting the Rockets.

Yeah, it was a great season for both teams.

I wouldn't suggest anything of the kind though, Shadders :)

I was only 3 in 1991 but if we signed riders of the calibre of Nilsson, Tatum and well a good solid seven. Yes we would be out of buisness. That being said we had good teams in 02,03 and 05 without going bust and we are still living the dream 8 years on. One signing in 2010 proved how things can change... Adam Pietraszko had a smiliar effect in 2004 for a short period anyway

Good opprtunity to bring a new face in for next season presented itself so we bring back the ex gf. Don't really want to, but will do in the short term...

Small clubs don't pay big fees for riders....

No big signings needed, keep Bellego, replace the rest, go for a team in depth that can gate and team ride. The only rider capable of team riding since the Czechs has been Ricky Ashworth, we have 7 capable riders in paper this season, but no team.

The secret to the 2005 team was that we often had Wilko, Scud, Schrammy, or Pietrasko at reserve, and often two out of those four.

We haven't been consistently strong enough at reserve for a long time.

I agree with Taffy - - strength in depth is crucial.

Maybe its more cost effective not too have 7 riders who consistantly score more than there average

Adrian and Michal both had there best ever seasons at that point in 2005, people seem quick to forget this. Michal was averaging nearly 9 points early dorrs. Adrian finished with a figure of about 8.40

I would like to see Kozza back, aside from his entertainment, he actually does the buisness but personal preference and all

One of the better meetings I've seen at Berwick. More passing than I've seen there for a while and just about the right result. Impressed with Olly after a blank first race, deserved the rider of the night award. He said some kind words about the Berwick set up which was nice.

Pie & burger was top notch as usual and Dick Barrie was on fine form, mostly aiming his attention at yours truly.

Loved seeing Olly Grenwood take care of Barrett in heat 14. Pontus, Tyson & Bunny attacked the track with some success.

Enjoyable "afters" in the Black & Gold until well after midnight. Very nice! Heard some good gossip about a certain northern based rider that was particularly interesting. All adds up
