emilali
Joking aside, Edberg is far better than Carr so fair play to Anderson for making the move.
one arm bandit
It's great to see Liam in a bandits race jacket but putting the 'local lad riding for his home side ' to the side maybe Liam should have went back to edinburgh for this season and applied his trade on a smaller track and then came to berwick after a season or two. John Anderson for me has made the right move bringing Alex in. But really do hope to see Liam back again in near future.
topsoil
I hope there is a place in the team in the future for Liam Carr, because Berwick and more to the point the sport in this country in general, need more of the likes of Liam coming through. It would be ideal if some sponsorship could be found to help the local riders out with equipment to keep them competitive. Liam has shown glimpses this season, in particular riding three and a half laps without a steel shoe to beat the British under 21 champion in the Cup so the talent is there. That said there is no doubt the team is strengthened by the change so the promotion can't be criticised on that point.
crescent girl
I think everyone wants Liam, and Stefan Farnaby, and whoever else Gary Flint and Colin Easton produce through a vibrant junior scene, in Bandits' colours in the fullness of time. Â One day, a locally-based, young and exciting team -- marvellous! Â But we also seem to have a public hungry (too hungry?) for success, and seemingly voting with their feet when it is not forthcoming. Â Rock and a hard place for the promotion. Â Long term? Inexpensive National League racing, but still putting on top-class events once or twice a year? Â Queens Park and Hampden Park come to mind. spin king
Does the team need new kevlars? In the words of the singer Meatloaf. Â "You took the words right out of my mouth."
Catch Me If You Can
In the words of the singer Meatloaf. Â "You took the words right out of my mouth." It's not the kevlars that guys wear that makes a team it is what is inside the race suit. Several folks seem infatuated with Berwick and Team Kevlars. Personally I hate the race suits.
Fromafar
when bandits came back to shielfield they were running national league standard racing and getting good crowdsI think that was because of the promise of a return to P L racing the following season.the way the NL is now don't know if it would be worth opening the doors if we dropped down ,but that is for the Promotion to decide. penchev
Starved of speedway for a while they were bound to, but after a while people want more than that. Things were a lot different in them days i.e not so many Grand prix on a saturday night, no SEC events on a Saturday night, Better weather etc etc  People are far more choosey now on what meetings that they attend. screm
Amazing to read certain posters now realising that resting Carr was going to happen at some stage. Whether Edberg is the answer, I`m not so sure, it will strengthen us in the second reserve position, whether we will now point up more points because of that only time will tell. Edberg has made a career from crashing, and at the end of his last Berwick stint seemed to blame everything rather than himself, always had top notch equipment, so if he has his head sorted out he might just add the few points we need. He wasn't that fussy before  Every hole`s a goal. Gives the local tarts that hang around the pits after the meeting another target for the weekly "drop the knickers" contest. I suspect Edberg will score more in the back of his van than on the track.  Its a contest that some excel in. No but i suspect money in general is tight always handy to have a rider with a rich daddy.   I`m sure that was never in the thinking at all. Fromafar
Don't see the point of bringing Edberg back if we had points to spare in the averages we should have dropped one of the Top 5 and brought in a 7 point man that would have become an asset.Finances obviously have to be taken into account though.

Looks a little injury prone to me.

screm
Have to agree Berwicks loyal support can put up with lack of success as the last 40+ seasons have proven. Â Mostly agree with this, though a couple of 4`s wins, plus a KOC win in the 90`s were always welcome, but in terms of PL success its certainly been a bit of a barren land. I`ve no doubt someone will be along presently about how a team that wins the league normally loses the most money.
