mythman666
Wrong guy at the wrong track at the wrong time If he comes back and reels off a few race wins? You may well have struck the nail on the head there. ..he was low on confidence at the time and perhaps Berwick wasn't the answer for him but there were odd times he would show flashes of brilliance showing that he is a class rider at PL level. His EL form early last season was as good as anyone. .His loss of form was a little perplexing If he comes and wins a few races...good on him...I for one will applaud him. And I would hope everyone else will too Edited December 29, 2013 by mythman666

one arm bandit
What happened to last seasons machinery ,he done alright on that. Fair point, just thought he might need to improve for a full season at premier league racing
bigeddiechek
What happened to last seasons machinery ,he done alright on that. His results for Edinburgh at the end of the season looked good. I know you sometimes go along, did you see him ride? If so, how did he look? Seems to have improved a lot and looking forward to seeing the lad at Berwick again.

He rode some brave races when he gated and looked a little bit out of his depth when he didn't ,he is not going to let us down IMO ,but perhaps we should just settle for him having a learning season and not expect to much.Hope he doesn't override and suffer falls every week though. We have to give him a chance ,if our other reserve turns out to be as good as expected it should take some pressure of Liam.

Thanks for that, I though you mentioned that you were at some of the meetings. I think you are right, he should have a strong other reserve with him throughout the season. If he rides to his average, then he will have done his job. I bet he will up it, though.

I was lucky enough to watch Liam develop at Stoke in 2012, and then see him ride for Buxton in 2013. The lad came on leaps and bounds, and while his gating wasn't always the best, he always gave everything. Personally, I think if he get's a 3.5 it will have been a fantastic season for him, because he wasn't always beating the top guys in the NL last season, but he will improve through the year, and will thrive at Berwick because of his style. Good luck to the lad!
Bandit59
I for one am glad the promotion has given Liam a chance there should not be great expectations of him it will be a huge learning curve for him.I also seen him ride at Edinburgh at the last few meetings where he did not let himself down ,even a few Monarch supporters said they would have him in their team.

I think it's great we are giving a young Brit a go who will clearly develop. I'm glad we signed him, as he would certainly have been snapped up by a rival team if we hadn't. I'm glad we signed him, as he would certainly have been snapped up by a rival team if we hadn't. Liam was signed by Berwick last year, and became an asset straight away as he is British. It is only foreign riders that have to attain an average to become an asset, if he had gone anywhere else he would only have went on loan. This was confirmed to me when I asked John Anderson at the play off final at Edinburgh at the end of last season
Fromafar
Tell us something we don't know, most Berwick fans knew Liam was signed last season and is an asset ,but if we don t use him why would he wan t ride for us in later years.the only advantage to Berwick would have been a loan fee which is probably minimal anyway.
