Berwick 2014?

Recommended Posts

It's encouraging to hear from some that Matej has been getting a bit of form and confidence recently.

Believe it or not, I'm in agreement with Screm, it is now up to the management of him to make sure he achieves his potential.

If he does, then he will be a great signing, if not, well that is just speedway.

I think Liam has to be a certainty at number 7, providing it works for him.

His results for Edinburgh were very good for such a young lad.

That shows he is able to improve, which takes takes and application.

I'm all for having him in the team.

Watch this, we'll have a team that doesn't excite on paper, but delivers on track.

Mark my words!

That has been proved Berwicks worst Team on paper was their best team for results on track in the last 10 years (2005) if my memory has not gone completely.

Correct, Somerset pipped to the league we came 2nd, if Tom P & Michal weren't injured at the end of season we may have wom the league.

Enlish ?? Better than you as well obviously

Not my first language, sorry

I haven't seen anything to suggest he's a bargain/good signing. Think the Redcar fans will be glad he hasn't returned to their side. On another note I see most are talking about young Carr at reserve but really? The lad is nowhere near ready for the rigours of PL racing

I'm sorry but I totally disagree on the Carr front, once he gets up to heat leader level on a consistent basis at NL level then take a chance on him but just now he ain't ready regardless of 2/3 good races at Armadale this year. Racing at PL level could do more harm than good for the lad at this stage of his career.

Kus very poor signing for me tbh, no one remember the night he guested and he let the bandits down big time? Far too inconsistent, is more hot n cold than a Katy Perry song and really isn't the kind of signing that makes me feel excited about the new season. Don't think he's anyway near as good as any of the other Czechs we've had at Berwick. The signing of Kevin Doolan is to my mind only slightly better, he ain't going to drop his average much but he ain't going to put 1-1.5 pts on it.

What's happened to all the exciting riders we've been used to getting for the last 4/5 years?

Disappointed.

Three very negative posts there, your glass definately half-empty!

Hopefully, the positive vibes from everyone else will create the excitement you crave.

As Liam Carr has not been announced as yet, I personally hope he will be signed up and not be driven away by such pessimism. Edinburgh would have him in a heartbeat, for sure!

OK its time for me to put my twopenerth in re Liam, he's a very good young rider but still in full time education therefore some midweek away matches may be a problem. He has no other sorce of income other than his mum and dad so he is going to need quite a bit of help through sponsorship to keep his equipment up to scratch, he doesn't drive so again its down to dad and he works in a job that he have difficulty getting time off.

So if all these problems can be overcome I say get his signature as soon as possible as I think he is a star in the making.

On the three riders so far I think its not a bad start and lets hope the next four are sorted out soon.

Carr impressed me when I saw him at Rye House in the PL, scored 3 from 3, not bad for a raw 3 point reserve. Get round pretty well at the NLRC too, should have scored more than he did IMO. He did well for Edinburgh in two big meetings also, shows he can negotiate a small track. Personally think he will be a very good rider in future, better if he signs for Berwick now as it is a big track. You'd be foolish to let him slip through your fingers.

Rye House won the league in 2005

A wonderful year. The win at Exeter put the seal on it, thanks to an excellent score from guest Shaun Tacey :D Edited by Shadders
