Tsunami
I remember when Harrison first came over, around the same time as Doolan. Wanted a place at Newport but was never going to get near 9.00. Smith I remember at Newport in 2001 and 2002 I think... extremely entertaining, a lively charactor and a good middle order man who I think if he kept away from the booze could of gone on to be a decent EL rider. He certainly had more talent than Harrison. Agree. He had bad habits as you know, but was a decent rider. Even when he went back home he continued to ride pretty decent in State Championships and OZ finals. Always remember him at Newcastle, having been taken out by Rob Grant, He was lying outside the track, then suddenly jumped up over the fence, and laced into Rob before being grounded by Rob's Dad and Robbie Best. You never knew what he was going to do or how many he would score.

His last year at Newport saw him become more consistent.... he was crap in heat 15s though, remember him going into them unbeaten then either crashing out or retiring. I was surprised when he moved on in 2003 tbh. With good bikes under him and a mentor to keep him on the right path, he'd of gone on to better things. Was much better than a 6 pt PL ave. Was sad to see him return a few seasons later and struggle to average 3.00 at reserve for Stoke and Newcastle. Massive waste of talent that happens all too often. A certain Jason Crump tipped him as a future GP star, even lent him a couple of engines in his first season.
Catch Me If You Can
Think its extremely likely we'll be seeing Kenneth Hansen as Berwicks number 1. What kind of ave would he come in on?Going by his average at Coventry looks well over 9.5. Problem would be emilali as with Fisher it reduces lots options further down team line ups? Going by Hansens twitter though I think we'll be seeing him.
Heedthebaw
Taking Hansen or Fisher on 9+ averages would give us what every body has been moaning about for the last few years, weak reserves, as we presume Liam Carr will be in the team personally i would hope we would go down the same route as Scunny and Newcastle with not a top number one but strenth in depth and a good partnet for Liam. 9.5 or 9.7 number one means two 3 point reserves, you can't have it both ways

I would say that the strongest reserves have already been snapped up. Newcastle have proved that 5 riders around a 7 and 2 reserves is the way to go
Robinh88
Our season was over in May so that gave Mr A and his band of specialist hitmen plenty of time to view other avenues? So to that end just what have they been doing?

emilali
I've heard Chris Harris is the new number 1 About as much chance of that as there is Jade Mudgeway being the PLRC.

Focusing as much time and effort as they possibly could into helping raise funds and aiding those who were trying to raise funds for Ricky Ashworth you would imagine. Because some things are more important than appeasing a couple of half wits on a forum.

wjm
And wit? The point being made is that the eye was supposedly taken of the ball when it came to this season. A quite significant event occurred that occupied the time and thoughts of most people connected with Berwick. If Berwick finish bottom next year because time was spent looking after Ricky and his family, good, I would take that. Fromafar
Disappointed we've missed out on Berge..I think it is obvious that Carr is going to be at Berwick now.think we need a proven rider in the other reserve position .He is a talent but is no better than Carr at this stage of his career IMO.
