Berwick 2014?

On top of that you need 2 reliable engines plus a couple of back ups, have a shunt a new rolling chassis probably close to £2000. You can re-build an engine, do one meeting blow the engine, no redress to the tuner, just another new engine. You will have heard the stories of the Poles turning up with 6 engines. Cost Cost and more Cost, you can now see how difficult it is for someone like Liam Carr. For him I would like a group to get together and support the local lad, a bit like TEAM RYMEL.

While I have no reason to dispute your figures, for me it just doesn't add up .there must be a lot of mediocre riders out there with superb back up and a good accountant for the tax returns. The BSPA need to bring in regulations that standardise equipment and slow the sport down a little to bring more closer and competitive racing. THE DEAN MACHINE IMO has a lot of valid points regarding bikes and maintenance.

Now there's a project for you to get into, sir! Your credibility would sky-rocket if you could pull such a support team together for Liam.

Anyone is welcome to join me in sponsoring Liam, I already am helping him next season. Credebility means nothing to me, I am who I am, anyone who dislikes me, who the rubbish cares, certainlt not me.

Too much self interest from BSPA, why do you think Neil Machin is so pissed off with it all

Have to agree with you on that one. Machin certainly knows the business and it is disappointing that he is wanting out.He certainly would not pay over the odds and I respect his view.

So, who are we signing for 2014?

No one is making up any silly rumours at the moment, which means we must be deep in negotations with all these blokes Razor says wants to don the Bandits Black and Gold.

How about

1. Oliver Allen

2. David Bellego

3. Josef Franc

4. Matej Kus

5. Stuart Robson (now that he's on the decline)

6. Liam Carr

7. Paul Starke

A team of commited guys right there, if they can gate, race on a grippy but not too grippy track, deal with the inconsistancies of referees, race on slick tracks, attend all matches (not just the first 5), could be the team that packs Shielfield to the rafters. BigEddie may very well see the Bandits lift there first trophy since 1991.

If my memory serves me correctly, wasn't this an issue when he last rode for the Bandits?

The crap at reserve approach as per then.

I like in general two ways of putting a team together, my favourite, and the way Newcastle nearly always go down, is a team in depth, 1 to 5 solid steady riders that can gate, and ride as well away as they do at home, carrying 2 reserves but hoping they come good. The other way is a serious No 1 with the best 2 reserves in PL, filling the gaps with 4 journey men. The question is are the type of reserves out there to do the latter.

I read certain posts and think, thank the lord I an Rae is team manager. I dread to think what would happen to the club if some posters on here had a say in team matters....

Cheers

strange...thats pretty much what I think every time you suggest a team

Liam Carr seems to be stitched on as one of the reserves for next season, that's bound to spell bad news for Paul Starke, that IMO would be very hard on Starke as he did all that was expected of him in 2013.Still not convinced that Carr wouldn't be better off signing full time for an NL side and doubling up with Berwick as he did in the season just gone but it appears its now or never to sign Carr as other clubs seem to be shown an interest in him to.

While Strarke did a decent job at times, he has been riding for a few seasons and IMO that is his level. Also he is not an asset.Carr is not PL level yet but has to be given the opportunity to see what he can do.

Totally agree. I'm told Liam even has his own nameplate in the Armadale pits now -- if Berwick don't ensure they capitalise on their asset he could be allowed to drift away. His progress in the latter part of 2013 has been impressive, and he fully deserves his chance in the 2014 Bandits line-up. NB: It has to be hoped he escapes the sarcastic criticism heaped on other young number 7s introduced to black-and-gold as he is finding his feet.
