Heedthebaw
Fair enough but there are dozen of young riders in the same boat,if Liam wants to make it in speedway he has just go to get on with it,no good relying on other peoples gestures although every little helps ,no one asked him to be a speedway rider.Pleading poverty is not the answer .I have never seen Liam pleading poverty or saying he has inferior equipment, it only seems to Tourrettes that is doing that, having said that every single rider in speedway needs all the help they can get. After 45 or 46 seasons in speedway Berwick has had a serious lack of locals making the grade so i for one would like to think that the local community get behind Liam Carr and help him all they can

mac101
There is a more in the rider than in the bike !!!!!! and pretty sure Liam will have his equipment ready for start of season if not already he was thrown in at the deep end at the end of last season and never looked out of place at admadale which is probably the hardest track to ride in the pl the others he rode in pl were probably new to him but he will be more experienced on them next year and with Claus vissing there he will help him big time as him and cookie helped him a lot at Edinburgh and the good thing about Liam was he took it all in and did it on the track and looking at a few of the no 7s this year they are in there first year in pl don't think anyone should worry about him he will do just fine and he should not have any pressure on him in his first full year
bigeddiechek
Let's play devils advocate here and look at it from Liam's point there he is lining up at the tape with three other riders think well I have got the poorest bike here so unless I get a flyer or push my luck I ain't going to get much out of this race.  I don't think he will be in that mindset. I think he'll be looking to that the opposition on. There are plenty of other reserves that he will back himself against, I'm sure.  I have never seen Liam pleading poverty or saying he has inferior equipment, it only seems to Tourrettes that is doing that, having said that every single rider in speedway needs all the help they can get. A lot of more experienced riders will be in the same position. I also completely agree that it is not very often we get a young local lad getting a chance and he is deserving of that bit of extra support because of this.

Gazc
Sorry. Tried the Glasgow thread but it was loaded with Berwick posts. See you tried the reverse psychology bit there and it appears to have worked . Edited January 5, 2014 by Gazc

bigeddiechek
Not quite sure they are Berwick supporters.People started switching them to ignore on here, looks like they've moved elsewhere for their "fun". Â You're welcome to them!
Robinh88
Berwick probably have the biggest support of Internet fans in the UK Â I think this shows the progress made by the klubb
YAMYAMBANDIT
A lot of 2+2=5 on this subject IMO Im sure Liam has it all in handI am not aware Liam has the begging bowl out, certainly not when I have spoken to him. Speedway has always been about rider sponsorship, without it, you nor I, would be watching speedway at all. As a young rider who is still at school, it will be difficult to finance it without financial help. He may well have it all in hand, but he may not. It is quite true I AM SAYING HE WILL NEED HELP, not LIAM. Edited January 6, 2014 by TOURETTES

The more views and opinions the better, this can only be good. It is so important to discuss openly all issues in speedway, some will agree, some will not, but long may it continue. bigeddiechek
You know I often think you discuss some things too openly on here, Taffy. This is not one of those occasions, I think you are quite right to ask that as many of us as possible support Liam, and you haven't suggested there is any begging bowl, either. Â Good to see that there is a lot of support for the young lad on here. Â Nice to have a positive bit on a Berwick thread for once!
