Humphrey Appleby
James and his crew are the best in the business, and they take care of all the hassle. They're the only ones in the business aren't they?
Haza
No insult intended but anyone can do the maths so no point going over old ground. Well not until they offer late availability hotel rooms in Cardiff at inflated rates and market them as if they are doing everyone a favour. That's like buying a fillet steak at £5 and selling it to a diner for £10. or selling GP stadium tickets over the face value price .
Mark
What gives you the right to be so judgemental? I've done it both ways; I've made all my own arrangements, and travelled independently, and successfully, but I've also made several trips with Travel Plus over the years. I've always found their tours to be hugely enjoyable, professionally organised and excellent value for money. James and his crew are the best in the business, and they take care of all the hassle. I'm entitled to an opinion. It is a forum for polite free speech. I'm not suggesting TP Tours are anything but true pro's and have said they are not a charity and are entitled to make a profit as its a business. Its up to you how you travel. But I fail to understand why anyone would pay for a TP tour that they can arrange easily in person for a fraction of the cost. How much hassle is it to book flight, hotel and ticket ? If you want to employ TP tours then pay your large subsidy for them to make a few clicks on a website or to pick up a phone on your behalf. It's the wider issue of why use a travel agent for anything, and of course people increasingly don't which is why they've virtually all disappeared from the high street. PHILIPRISING
The telephone? How quaint ;-) THE wife of one of the guys who works for PInegen has spent all her working life in the travel business. She used to operate from a High Street office. Now she works from home for a major travel company. No office costs for the parent company, no rates, fewer overheads, etc, etc. It ain't just quaint, it makes economic sense. And, Marky, TP do far more than just make a few clicks and pick up a phone on your behalf ... their tours are meticulously planned months ahead, hotels visited and vetted, internal travel arrangements put in place, a complete itinerary pieced together. Why knock it? You obviously prefer to do your own thing. Fine. Others like to have the work done for them, to have the peace of mind that goes with it. Why the criticism? Anyway, time to put this one to bed. Each to his own...

Why knock it? I've not criticised the company as I'm sure it is very well run. I'm simply pointing out that ANYONE can book the same holiday far cheaper by doing it themselves. As Humphrey says the travel agent is disappearing. Time to put this one to bed I agree.

From my own perspective, I find it far more efficient to look for what I want online, rather than have to spend ages going over details on the phone. In fact, I can't remember the last time I did that - must have been more than 10 years ago.

Polish final on the Sunday at Tarnow-should be on TV if you can find a sports bar in Warsaw(if you are there on the Sun)
Bradford Ace
Hi guys, bit of help needed. 8 of us are now up for Torun to hopefully cheer Tai on to glory & our 1st World Champ since 2000. Been looking at tickets & the whole stadium seems to be a sell out apart from the Main Stand where cheapest tickets are over £100. There's about 3 of us who will pay that but the other tight buggars wont!!!!!! I was enlisted with the task of trying to find some cheaper tickets but clicked onto every block in the stadium apart from the main stand & all tickets seem to be taken. No way would i travel there if i didnt have a guaranteed seat but the others are talking of going & trying to get tickets outside. I've told them that i arent sure if tickets would be available outside anyway & even if they were, they'd probably be dotted all round the stadium & not be sat together. So, does anyone know what the chances are of them getting tickets outside?? I'm happy to pay my £100 & see Tai lift that World Crown!!!! Polish touts are like any other touts-always at sporting events and always got tickets.A suggestion would be to email torun to ask if the standing tickets have gone on sale yet(they might have and sold out)klub@speedway.torun.pl

Bradford Ace
Struggling here as cant get response from Torun club re standing tickets & the only seating ones left are the £100 ones. Looking for either 4 standing tickets now or 4 seated tickets in the cheaper seats. Anyone got any spares or know anyone who has that they want to get rid of??? GARY POPPS
better to pay £100 now for a grandstand seat, than pay a tout £100 for cheap seat.
garygunson
travel plus have tickets for a tour from luton staying two nights or its just £20 per person for the extra night to fly from leeds bradford, the chap i spoke to was seemingly a very likeable bloke, who told me how it was without putting me under any pressure. He says it will be all speedway fans together having fun, so i just wonder why people on here seem so rude about the company

Humphrey Appleby
so i just wonder why people on here seem so rude about the company I don't really see anyone bring rude about them, just generally questioning the need for organised tours in this day and age. You pay your money and make your choices though.

He says it will be all speedway fans together having fun, so i just wonder why people on here seem so rude about the company I commented on TP tours quite a bit and nothing was rudely put. The main comment was on the price they charge as you can book the tour yourself for a much cheaper price. It's only flight, ticket and hotel for the majority of GPs that are in town centres. One reason why Bradford Ace can't buy a Torun ticket is because TP tours have bought plenty but will charge a higher price to buy from them. If that assumption about ticket prices is incorrect I'll apologise to TP tours and accept I'm wrong. Same case as to why accomodation in Cardiff is difficult to get as TP tours bulk buy cheaper end price rooms and then sell them on with a nice profit on top.
