Brooksy
Defending him, but having a pop at me. Go take that Cold Shower. Every Somerset fan on here and i include myself as a part time fan, as Poole come first wants Garry and the boys to go a heat 15 better this year, after last year i think he deserves it, Right. so please stop moaning. You need to finish top, and thats what everybody should be focusing on.. And if, you finish top and get to the final, the powers that be really have no choice but to give the club the choice of legs.. 'the choice of legs'....or what? Bikes? Me too, that's three. Make that four.
SCB
Really Naijer, so my last post, post 49 is wrong then?? Post 49 can be anything you want it to be, right, wrong, whatever. Because nobody normal can make any sense of it.
Pirate Nick
Do yourself a favour mate, and take a cold shower. I had a nice picture sent to me from last night of Alexs engine, very expensive. Now, if your going to tell me thats rubbish then i would strongly suggest you have a word with Pirate Nick, who was there.. I also said , but you never read posts properly, only whats convenient, Alex is far better than what he's been showing, and yes he does need to improve, but you cannot help mechanical problems.. Good riders do not become bad riders overnight. He was in the form of his life at the start of the season, and very much looked like sticking 2 points on his average, but recently he's been a bit up and down, and the down parts are mainly mechanical. of course when i said Alex is more than capable of scoring 8 pts a meeting and he started scoring that and more before his recent spell of mechanical problems you shut up didn't you.. funny that. Had that cold shower yet!! His engine is fine Mike, the picture I sent showed his knackered frame after his rear chain came off.

Starman2006
LOL. Frame, engine it's a speedway bike right? Not a great picture to be fair. But then again if it involves a poole fan nothing is fair!!
Lord Antebellum
I see from Facebook that a collection at the meeting for Ricky Ashworth raised a wonderful £1,120. Well done all. Also that Debbie Hancock came over well in an in-depth talk with Dick Barrie during the ambulance delay.
Halifaxtiger
To be fair the tracks been pretty good for a few weeks now, with reasonable racing, but as you say last night it was horrendous, and by announcing that Tweedmouth was hit with monsoon like rain on Friday night makes all the worse. If you screw the track up either dont say anything or come out and be up front and apologise if you think it neccessary, but dont make a fool of people. I am sure my mate said it had rained heavily in Tweedmouth overnight (and he lives there). The track was poor but I made allowances for the very heavy shower that hit the place about 3pm and the forecast that we were due for more later (which didn't happen). Berwick is never going to be a brilliant racers track, but the current promotion have pulled out all the stops to make it as good as it can be. I can forgive them a one off at least partly caused by the weather.

Then your mates wrong, it is true to say we had one heavy shower around teatime last Friday, if that shower was enough to put Saturdays meeting in doubt then we are in trouble as Shielfield has always had an excellent reputation for drainage and being able to with stand a lot of water. It was dry overnight Friday, Saturday morning saw a few light showers, nothing more, before a heavier shower in the middle of the afternoon. But now it is safe to assume that any significant rain on a Friday will put a Saturday meeting in doubt. Also Id argue your point about Shielfield not being a racers track, over the last few weeks the track has been slick and the racing in general has been decent, and last weeks under-21 meeting wasn't exactly shabby, infact Id say it was one of the best meeting ever staged at Berwick,so to sum up IMO someone dropped a clanger last Saturday and Im sure lessons will have learned from it. I live 200 mtres from the track, we had rain overnight wednesday, a heavy shower thursday evening, light rain overnight friday, a shower for about half hour saturday afternoon which I would describe as consistant. Any suggestion that the weather has been horendous is total bullrubbish, and to use it as an excuse, makes the person who made it look stupid. Plain and simple, in one week we went from one of the best prepared tracks I have experienced at Shielfield Park. to one of the worst. The under 21 meeting gave us some of the best racing I have seen at berwick, fast and fuirious loads of passing and close competetive racing, so who said Shielfield dosn't lend itself to good racing. I praised highly the track preperation on the night, and also the two previous meetings where the track was getting better and better, only to be served up with that track on Saturday night. As said before, hurry back from your holiday Heppy.

He certainly did tell me that last weeks meeting was superb, as did Banditforlife. One swallow doesn't make a summer, though. We'll have to agree to disagree about Shielfield being a racers track. In my experience, it isn't and indeed never will be. What I give the Berwick promotion for - and I have said many times that Berwick have stepped up their game more than anyone else in the last few years - is that they do their best to ensure that it is as good as it can be. Even if it is accepted that the weather wasn't to blame for the track - and you live there, I don't - that on Saturday was wholly exceptional as far as I am concerned. Thanks for that, couldnt agree more with you about the promotion, they have indeed done many good things for Berwick Speedway and hopefully that will continue for many years to come.Which is probably why Saturday was such a let down, though Im sure the promotion will ensure that the track is back to its best next Saturday for the visit of Rye House.A meeting incidentally where Berwick will be without the services of David Bellego who is away racing in France. Halifaxtiger
One last thing: I never ever eat speedway food but my pals from Plymouth told me that the burgers at Berwick are the best in the country. Can't comment on that, but they were bloody superb
