Pirate Nick
Tiny sprinkle of rain earlier this morning but otherwise dry, right now its cloudy but dry. You can be sure that Somerset will have marked this meeting down as a must win. Cheers
Starman2006
Reguardless of what oldtimer says this will be a walk in the park,, i think not, but if the same riders do their jobs like last night the reserves improve and Alex has a better night then the Rebels will win. But, NO meeting this time of year is to be taken for granted. If you want the points you have to work for them.. Rebels must go into this meeting with one thing in mind.. gusworld
Berwick have a solid look about them so all the Rebels will need to be firing to win this one.

YAMYAMBANDIT
Nice steady rain at the moment, should get some water into track. Forecast is OK fo this evening. If the track is prepared the same as last week, nice and slick please, should be good racing.
RebelRebel
Easy win for the Bandits this one. Alex and the reserves will be let downs again. Be surprised if we get a point. A Bandits win would be nice anyway to celebrate Ricky's birthday.

oldtimer
Four points in the bag for rampant Rebels, hope injured riders not too bad, Berwick seem to be having all the bad luck, but Rebels would have won anyway. The form of Alex and the reserves still a worry if we are to stand any chance of winning the League. Stefan particularly disappointing compared to his paid max at Oak Tree. As I correctly forecast, tonight was a "walk in the park" tomorrow at Glasgow we could stand still in the park and still win. He had bike problems in the first race and did not complete the race He won heat 2 His chain snapped when he was in a points scoring position in his 3rd ride. He finished behind his team-mate in his last ride. So he scored 4+1 from the 2 races that he finished, and had mechanical issues in his other two rides that stopped him from scoring any points.

Great performance from the rebels who looked like winning before the unfortunate withdrawal of Kozza and Barrett. Full marks to the track staff for getting the meeting on and full marks to the promotion for laying food on in the Black and Gold after the meeting. There's a few promotions could learn a lot from Berwick. Nice to meet up with Halifaxtiger and spittalbandit. Mate this doesn't seem to be being put up on the Updates, but it does appear that a lot of Alexs problems recently have been mechanical. we all know Alex is a far better rider than he's been showing.. He just seems to be having one of those periods. As much as you have to feel a little sorry for him, it won't do his average any harm!!!! Ha, ha completely wrong. The guy is probably in the form of his life, near enough untouchable at home and as I said on the other thread was our best rider on show at Plymouth last week. You and RebelRebel are unbelievable, one bad meeting at Edunburgh and he's having "a bad period" - give me a break. Shame to deal with these ridiculous posts first, but great result for the Rebels in another crushing win away from home. Our record of scoring no less than 41 continues and hopefully that turns into another win at Glasgow today.
screm
Fair play to Somerset on their win, they came they saw they conquered.Doyle was quite imperious, racing to a maximum, and he was well back up by Grajczonek and Morris.Obviously their task was made all the easier after Barrett & Smith were withdrawn from the meeting when they tangled in Ht11.Both were taken to hospital,Barrett with concussion and Smith with a neck injury, hopefully that Smith walked back to the pits to wait on his ambulance, and Barrett walked into the ambulance means to news on any lasting injury will be good news. Sadly with only 4 race winners it was a bit of a night to forget for Berwick,Alden on his Berwick return was unaffective as was most of his teamates.Word of credit to Paul starke who did all that was asked og him, scoring in all his races bar one. Sadly, and annoyingly it was back to the bad old days reguarding the track.Seeing riders enter the first turn only to be fired out towards the fence is not what you pay money to see.I know our regular track guy is away on holiday, hurry ye back Heppie,as I hope whoever did the track last night wont be doing it again anytime soon.Of course we had the usual response last night of the keys are in the pits if you want to do it,which is just foolish.I and many others pay thirteen hard earned pounds for the privledge of watching 15 heats of entertaining speedway and over the last few weeks we have, last night, when you get racing like that makes you wonder if its all worth while.

mythman666
Dont think the Bandits can have any complaints about the result last night...To be fair we made a decent fight of it up until Kozza and Nicki collided. Then it was game over. Fair play to the Rebels..easy to see why they are at the right end of the table.
oldtimer
Pray, do tell me what was wrong with Alex in your eyes tonight then???? I think you are getting me mixed up with Rebel Rebel who's remarks about Alex were totally out of order. Of course not being at the track I have fallen into the trap of not knowing about bike problems etc and just looked at the bare results. However Mark Loram said in the Oak Tree club house that he just needs to get Alex's away form going and you are just quoting tonights match and forgetting just 1 point at Edinburgh. Yes Alex finished behind team mate and may have been covering him with a team ride but was only in front of Starke the Berwick reserve. Alex can score away as at Plymouth and Workington, but another team we will meet in the Play Offs, Newcastle he scored 2. I think you are reading more criticism into my statement than it deserves, which I repeat for clarification. The form of Alex and the reserves still a worry if we are to stand any chance of winning the League. Brooksy
I, for one, am certainly not worried about Alex's form - I'd be far more worried about RebelRebel's and oldtimer's perspective - or lack of it! But as for the weakness at reserve away from the OTA - that is a problem that may cost us come the playoffs. The power of our top 3 meant Stefan and Simon didn't need to score many to secure 4 points at Berwick, and hopefully that will also be the case at Glasgow today, but more will be needed to secure points at places like Ipswich and Newcastle.
