and....I fully agree but don't moan when they aren't available for competition in this when carrying out duties on the continent which is what I was saying in the first place. It was P1928 who raised the topic of his Country not me in an almost emotional blackmail way. Well as he himself insinuated in the SS at the moment his country is Germany.

Nonsense.. It most certainly was not me who brought up the concept of country first! I was commenting on this posting about it being comparable with Poles who put their home Polish commitments before their foreign racing ones...

That's a logical explanation. Nothing different to Poles in the Elite League whose prior commitment is to their home country club if a fixture at home clashes with an EL match.

You on the other hand DID make the frankly daft comment about his country "letting him down".. As you now seem to accept that it's right to have rules preventing 13 and 14 year olds racing in adult Speedway are you finally going to withdraw that remark...?

This is that posting by the way!!

The reason why Lambert is riding in Germany is because his COUNTRY as you call it let him down so Robert owes them nothing and stil haven't learned from it.

Ashamed to have been drawn into this argument to this degree

Did you or did you not post this? or a you a victim of Fraping (we really need a nickname for BSF raping)

Hmm, can't actually see the logic... Robert's home country is here, his home COUNTY club is KL...!

Yes - but you said I brought up the concept of the 'home country' first - I patently did not, as I've just pointed out!!! My posting was (as is blindingly obvious...) purely in response to gustix's contribution I just quoted.

Your posting, on the other hand, about Britain "letting [Robert] down" and how ,as a result, he "owes them nothing" and how British Speedway still "hasn't learnt from it" is the matter under discussion...

What is it that you want the authorities to do to change things then..? You've just conceded that you don't want the age rules changed. Apart from those rules exactly HOW has Britain let Robert down? And what, as I say, would you like to be changed to stop a repeat?

Like many others I would think, I'd be interested in finding out how young Robert has been faring in Germany this year. Can anyone provide a link to suitable website please that would provide such info?

Probably badly worded. I agreed with your's and Gustix reason for opposing younger lads riding not the concept of younger lads riding. in an "it's your opinion and you are entitled to it" way.

My apologies for the misunderstanding

I agree - a daft argument, sorry I let it go on so long! We all agree that Robert is a brilliant young rider. And for what it's worth IMHO, I'd like to see Robert and Adam Ellis both parachuted straight into the Team GB World Cup squad next year!

Coventry are the next track in for a treat tonight shame they don't seem to have the fire power like IOW (Ellis) Buxton(Wright) and Kent (Boxall) have at the top to match him. I don't think Jacobs is quite there but I hope I'm proved wrong.

I think the age limitations are fine as they are. You are always going to get the exception to the rule and Robert is that exception in this case. The majority of 15 y/o's would not show the maturity and bike racing nouse that Robert does on the track. He's a great 'British' prospect gaining invaluable experience in Germany, nothing wrong with that in my book.

Pleased to say you WERE proved wrong as Joe managed to beat him in heat 1. That was the only time an opposition rider headed him though. First time I've seen Robert ride and he's got a great style.

The YS have a very solid look about them now. Get to the play offs and provided Lambert rides in both legs in semi & final I can see more heartache for Dudley and a Lynn league championship.

I hear Lambert's not riding at Stoke on Sunday...

I know young Robert has these strong German commitments but surely he could miss the odd continental jaunt..?

Must be frustrating for KLYS fans to have such a star rider and know he virtually never rides away from home.

I wonder if he'll miss the NLRC (on a Saturday night) as well..?

Parsloes you may have a point there, I can see a few Young Stars v The Heathens battles coming up, but i suspect IOW and Mildenhall having a say in the matter. To begin the KO Cup Semi may give us a good idea.

Yes. I was there and I was pleased to see that. Ollie could have been a bit of a spoiler in ht 15 but i'm afraid experience won on the day and Lambert got through. Good to see Lambert being challenged rather than just going through the card no one really wants to see that. :t:
