Al Stewart
Absolutely pathetic from Alex, biggest culprit for us not getting a point. That's horrendously unfair to a rider giving his all. Too much throttle and not enough thought, maybe, but how can you fault anyone who puts in so much effort? The word 'pathetic' is completely inappropriate, the sort of thing that gives internet forums a bad name. It was a great meeting and all the Rebels played their part.
cyclone
An enthralling incident packed contest, with both teams playing their part. Somerset were worthy opponents, though imo, Newcastle are still the best team to have visited the Dale this Season, having turned us over twice. However doing the double over the Rebels (yes, remember, we also won at the OTA with the same 7 riders ) and taking 6 match points to nil, deserves recognition Quite rightly Josh Bates will be getting most of the kudos, but messrs Vissing & Tabaka in hts 12 & 14, did their bit in assisting him to victory. By his normal standards, Cookie was below par, after being caught up in first bend congestion, but he did produce the best overtakes of the meeting in passing Morris in ht6 and then Doyle in ht 15. Re ht 15, his record in the final heat is phenomenal, both home and away, and must be on the way to being the best ever in the PL. Notice some Somerset posters on here are berating the performance of Davies, Nielsen, and Lambert - perhaps they should be more realistic and acknowledge that on the night, their Monarchs counterparts, when on song, are the better riders on their home track. Dont think too many of you will be berating last night's track . When you get a track prepared like that accompanied by three very good visiting heat leaders , you will get last night's very decent looking sized crowd coming back for more .

Agree,he gave 110% but kept getting in to difficulties trying too hard. Impressed with Bates he wasn't fast but he was gusty and didn't bottle it under pressure
Najjer
Absolutely pathetic from Alex, biggest culprit for us not getting a point. You'd naturally expect the reserves to pick up only a couple but for one of you're second stringers is near unacceptable! He's 2 different riders, always scoring double figures at home but completely loses the plot at the smaller away tracks. He really needs to sort it out if we're going to go through the playoffs. What a load of rubbish you speak - I'm presuming you have forgotten that only just last weekend Alex was sublime at Plymouth and was leading heat 15 to win us the match when the race was stopped. Completely out of order and short sighted comment. We didn't expect anything from this match, but came up just short again by a point. Great result for when the play offs come around, as with our current home we're going to be league champions. Armadale is a tricky ol' track from when I have been there before, so we can't be disappointed - and go on and win at Berwick and Glasgow now. Bandit59
Agree with Paulco about heats 8 to 11 not going 10 in front some of the supporters next to me were wanting Max to beat Kyle ? Heat 10 3 all but not as we know it with Cookie cruising round in third but showing his true colours when it mattered good meeting hoping for the same result tonight home win.Hats off to Josh Bates in heats 11 and 14 must have given the promotion something to think about. oldtimer
That's twice now Jason Doyle has been beaten by a reserve, time to make changes?
Paulco
That's twice now Jason Doyle has been beaten by a reserve, time to make changes? To be absolutely fair , and taking nothing away from Josh Bates , Doyle made a complete hash of the gate , then was held up behind his team mate . By the time he eventually got past Newman there was barely half a lap left in the race to do anything about Bates . But i do realise your post was tongue in cheek . SCOTLAND1314
A truly wonderful night's speedway entertainment put on by by both teams. Morris and Doyle particularly impressive from the visitors. With the home men all scoring solid points. We all like good heats of racing but sometimes these can be a bit too infrequent for our liking. Last night the majority of heats were exciting for one reason or another with 4 that stand out in my mind as I type. Morris in heat 4 for his effortless 3rd to 1st with some exceptional cornering. Heat 3 for .. well to be honest I lost track of the passing - re-passing and tussles that went on - incredible stuff. Heat 15 for a Cookie blockbuster special around the outside of Doyle. But the absolute standout race for me was heat 11 and wee Josh Bates... simply enthralling, nerve racking and ultimately joyous (for The Monarchs) stuff... and what a roar from the crowd as he crossed the line. The wee man certainly likes a battle. All in front of a big crowd.

eide67
Well done to both teams on providing fantastic entertainment last night. This match had it all - good weather, big noisy crowd, well-prepared track, two evenly matched teams, lots of close racing and passing and a complete surprise hero in young Josh. A great team performance from the Monarchs, with all riders contributing, while Somerset relied mostly on their top three. Always a pleasure to watch Nick Morris at Armadale and I was particularly pleased to see Jozsef coming back to form after a slight dip recently. His efforts in heats 3 & 14 were outstanding. This was proper speedway. Speedway out of the top drawer.....I'll say!

You must be having a laugh! Are you talking about the same guy who only a couple of weeks ago was thrown head first over the safety fence, injuring his wrist, before appearing later in the meeting gaining vital points for the already depleted Rebels side? Davies is an awesome racer, tries his guts out and has steadily improved this season.

Dietbowers
My first visit to Armadale, close meeting all the way through, can`t say I really enjoyed it though,it`s a funny old track which I didn`t like..suppose if I went there more often I could get to like it.. ,still had a good time though in the company of young Paulco,a few jars got consumed, and nice to meet King Jaime and Scotland 1314.
