This will no doubt be the toughest of the Rebels 3 fixtures this weekend. Armadale's not a happy hunting ground for us. Our top 5 may be able to match the Monarchs, but Sneddon at reserve should be a trump card for them. If things go our way we may keep it close enough to pick up a point but, realistically, anything more than a point from this would be a very welcome surprise, Far more hopeful for points from both Berwick and Glasgow.

starmans advice I reckon :)

starmans advice I reckon :)

Ha Ha, very funny. :D Rebels about to go 10 pts down, time for a Doyley double.

Edit, oh dear...

Edit 49-41 to Edinburgh. Alex has a mare of a night, 1, and the reserves will have to do better. Rebels should really have got a point out of this. But nevermind, this on the face of it, is the hardest of the 3. School report, must do better.

Edinburgh 49 Rebels 41. Main difference in teams was Monarchs reserves 15 points, Rebels reserves only 3. Alex Davies not beating an opponent from 4 rides big disappointment and a kick up backside needed for tomorrow. Still a good Rebels performance against a strong team and a win at Berwick should be "a walk in the park".

Absolutely pathetic from Alex, biggest culprit for us not getting a point. You'd naturally expect the reserves to pick up only a couple but for one of you're second stringers is near unacceptable! He's 2 different riders, always scoring double figures at home but completely loses the plot at the smaller away tracks. He really needs to sort it out if we're going to go through the playoffs.

Mate, you'l be fine, but yes, Alex has to improve, he's more than good enough. Magic has the same problem on the smaller tracks. Its all in the mind..

Cook passes Doyle in ht.15 to give the Monarchs all the points - deja vu!

Not an unexpected result - the weakness at reserve was always going to be a problem - but if only Alex had shown his recent form, we could have taken all the points instead of none. Let's hope it's just a blip and normal service is resumed tomorrow. ( I think that's basically what Oldtimer's just said too. Great minds.......)

Bit harsh! He's been a star for us all season - both home and away.

Did he score many at that vast arena that is the Plymouth saucer last week????? I believe he gained us a point in ht 15 there.

I'm sure he will know that he hasn't produced his required form and be pretty disappointed with himself. It wouldn't surprise me to see him knock in a couple of double figure returns in the next two days. Chin up Alex!

Yet again the Rebels score 40 points away from home but end up with nothing. I think they have now scored over 40 pts in every fixture that has been completed by them this year. Impressive stuff I think.

What a thoroughly enjoyable 15 heats of speedway . Somerset's long tail meant they were never going to seriously threaten to win the meeting , but i felt Edinburgh played it very cutely from heat 8 onwards to prevent the double points ride coming into play .

Hats off to young Josh Bates , he probably won himself an Edinburgh team place till the end of the season after his last two rides tonight . An enthralling contest throughout , roll on the KO Cup semi final between these two sides .

Too be fair to Alex , Edinburgh is a very difficult track if you only ride it once or twice a season . He made a great move in heat 3 to get himself into 2nd place after a lap , only to misjugde the 3rd and 4th bend a lap later which knocked him to the back . On more conventional tracks this weekend he'll contribute a lot more points wise

Fantastic nights racing at the Dale!!!!

good tight meeting all the way through with fantastic racing. the last 3 heats were great with rebels 8 down going into heat 13 to then pull that back to 4 going into to heat 14 for the pairing of Bates and Tabaka to then pull of a 5 - 1 of their own to then put the monarchs 8 up again before Cook pulling of a fabulous outside pass on Doyle in heat 15 to gain the monarchs all 3 points.

Special mention to Josh Bates though what a performance this man put in to beat Jason Doyle in his 3rd heat to then win the crucial heat 14 as well was absolutely fantastic! Can the promotion please sign this young man up for the rest of the season.

C'mon Paulco young Mr Bates, can't have ridden the Dale often but soon mastered it! But what a fantastic meeting with some great close racing. With the Rebels having such a strong top three, it was imperative that Monarchs paced themselves to get 8 in front. It all went wrong in heat 13 though before Josh and Joe team rode superbly in 14 to get it back to 8 up. Still a twist in the tale as Cook had to come from behind to secure the necessary 3-3 in heat 15.

A great contest between two very strong teams with Monarchs strength in depth just winning out over the strong top three of the Rebels. Hope the big crowd is back next week!
