Fozzie4388
Wont be a tough Match if Howe (any sort of form) and Auty (away form) continues.
whitevanman
no howe, he has stepped down. 28 day ban and the scorpions use r/r for him which means everyone is eligable for an extra ride as he is second in averages.
Arson fire
Howe is taking a break from speedway.
Django
Howe's absence makes them stronger, we have Luke Crang guesting for Ash, best of luck Luke
Fozzie4388
Yeah Scunthorpe a little stronger now with R/R for Howe.
IronScorpion
Oh, how people have short memories. To get a rider of Davids stature to ride for the Scorpions was an awesome capture. His injuries in 2012 & 13 have, somewhat, curtailed his progress & confidence but we all know WHAT David CAN do. A husband & recent father maybe changes his outlook to the sport but he has never lacked giving 100% to the Scorpions as shown, last year, supporting his fellow Scorpion riders to the title. This year, maybe, still carrying the scars of the injuries, has had an effect on his confidence but when he gates, he is hard to catch, but the incident of last friday has had a big impact of his future in speedway. Long track & grass track, maybe no no problem, but the close proximity of a speedway track has got to him, mentally. Hope you come out of this the right way, David, & hope to see you in a Scorpion jacket next year. Best wishes Ironscorpion
scunny1
David Howe has been under performing all season and his heart never looked in it. Its a pity, but I would have done my damdest to keep Nick Morris at the end of last season and let DH go instead, however the damage is done and season virtually over now... scaramanga
scunthorpes meeting for the taking workington dont look good at home recently for some reason decent win last week but no fight from the oposition for last 2 months workington have won by luck rather than team performance with ashley out we cant expect anything from reserves and the 3 heat leaders well god knows what were gonna get from them Edited August 10, 2013 by scarra
Lord Lucan
Having slipped back to third now in the league, definitely need the three from this!! Shame Ash is out at reserve, seriously weakens us there so will have to hope the main body of the team will do the necessary and secure a 50-40 home win!! Rather an odd comment with Scunnys recent away scores, even without Josh and David on top form, points picked up at Ipo,Redcar and Leics and very close at Somerset

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At the end of the 2012 season, we would NEVER have been able to keep the top 5 who performed to the end of 2012 plus our guests & Nick wanted to move south. On paper, we had a good side at the start of the season but some of the top 5 did not step up to the plate & the rserves were not good enough to step into their shoes.

Read it again ,it never mentions keeping all 5. As for reserves, 1 was a gamble that has taken all season to come half good and other NL reserve was never good enough for PL level. lucifer sam
David Howe has been under performing all season and his heart never looked in it. Its a pity, but I would have done my damdest to keep Nick Morris at the end of last season and let DH go instead, however the damage is done and season virtually over now... Nick Morris wanted a PL team closer to his Swindon base, so he was always Somerset-bound for 2013. Nick was out of the equation and David wanted to return. I don't think I agree with David's "heart never looked in it." More that his confidence is taking a while to rebuild after his various injuries - it's far more difficult coming back from injury when you're 31 rather than 21. He's alright around the larger Longtrack & Grasstrack tracks, but not the tightly enclosed speedway tracks. And the events of last Friday have also had an effect on him - speedway riders are human beings. David is Scunthorpe's leading all-time scorer for a reason. He was the No 1 for three years in sucession. But he's not a robot - injuries and confidence can affect everyone whether former No 1 or reserve. Maybe it was a gamble to include him in the 2013 team plans. But Scunny gambled a few times in 2012 and it paid off. Rob Godfrey never gives up - he's always looking for a way to bolster the team. What really messed our season up was not being able to strenghten up when we wanted to (when the rulebook suggested we should be able to). Nicolai Klindt came in just a little too late, after our hands were tied. But you can't win the league title every year. It's exceptionally hard to win a league title at Premier League level. Workington and Somerset still never have. We've only lost once at home in the league and many of the meetings around the EWR have been fantastic entertainment (Heat 15 against Rye House will live long in the memory - HOW did Josh do that!!!). As long as there's positive news at some point from the hospital at Hull (we're all praying for you, Ricky), I would say it's been an enjoyable season. All the best Rob Edited August 11, 2013 by lucifer sam

Django
A tough match now even tougher with Bellego in, can see us being beat tonight
Lord Lucan
Agree, going to be much tougher than I thought, Bellego is in pretty good nick right now and the 28 day ban for Howe allows R/R for just about the entire side, could give us a real problem "if" our top five don't do the business? Will stick to my prediction tho of 50-40 as the team knows how vital home points are now so I'm confident we'll shape up OK!!
