A good service boz, one that I appreciate very much, as those who are prepared to give detailed results of NJL events are extremely rare. Heaven only knows when usually there are only four heats to type out. So thanks once again.

Was this the final of the NJL Riders' Championship, or was it tied up with the Northern Open Championship, this league is all a bit confusing due to proper publicity?

correct Danny Phillips now is invited as a wildcard to the MDLRC at Leicester on Sat Sept 28th. The winner of the MDL GP will join him along with two nominated riders from each of the7 MDL clubs. The second and third placed rides in the MDL GP will be the meeting reserves and we are hoping to have some 125 and 250 cc demo races.

Sponsorship for the MDLRC is available at £35 per race and £50 for the Final along with fuel sponsors per rider and any additional backing. >>e-mail : laurencerogers@blueyonder.co.uk or text 07801429304 or 07510768392

Last year we had enough backing to give each rider a £50 voucher to spend on the Cov-Comp van along with fuel for each rider plus extra backing from Lucas Oil and FB Clutchplates (who sponsored medals for all the riders as well) as well as main backing from D-Star who provided the body colours and prizes . Hopefully we can attract the same as each rider receives no points money or travel expenses.

Trophies are again being hand carved in gold, silver and bronze by Mick Chapman Trophies.

Thanks for that info Laurence, it's refreshing to know that there are a handful of us interested in publicising these Junior Leagues as much as possible. It's just a shame that other people that could provide a similar service, show little or no interest in doing so. These leagues are for the benefit of the long term future of British Speedway, and we should be really pushing these youngsters names, not hiding them away in short messages on Facebook or Twitter. It seems the world starts and ends with those two media outlets now, and that's both a shame and wrong IMO. Anyway mate, you keep humming the tune, and I'll sing it.......Twitters won't have a clue what I'm talking about :o

This meeting was the Northern Junior League Riders Championship with representation from all the teams taking part in the league.

There is also the Northern league mini Grand Prix, with selected riders taking part in a round at each hosting track,as per the big boys Grand Prix.

So two different competitions to give the riders a chance of more rides at different tracks.

Hope that helps to clarify the competitions.

This was the one off NJLRC which was planned from the start of the season as our show piece event same as the previous seasons with the winner on the night taking the title. however the Northern Open Championship round which was due to take place at Redcar a few weeks earlier had to be cancelled when a fixture change meant the Bears no longer had a fixture on the planned date. With league fixtures for the cubs still to fit in and limited dates now available we agreed with the riders involved that the NJLRC would also count towards their the NOC progressive scores. I'll be posting an NOC update soon with 2 rounds of the completion still to race for.
