Sherborne Green
With Cory Gathercole out for the rest of the season Plymouth will have to sign a replacement. Sign a Brit you say but who? At this time of the season there is virtually nobody around to take his place so you have to go to Europe or further afield. At this time of the season there is nobody from the lower league to replace to someone with a 6 plus PL average. Virtually all EL teams have 3 double uppers so nobody there. Answers on a postcard. freddyfivetoes
I think the salient point in the above post is that there are too many double-uppers. The Premier League clubs could, and should, break away completely from any alliance with the "upper" level, and get back to running their own successful show, like in the 1980's.

Sherborne Green
That is what prompted my post Former Devil. I follow 3 teams. Somerset, Poole and my first team Plymouth. I mean the first team I watched in 1962. At that time all Brits in the team. A total of of three Brits all at Somerset. Two at reserve and one second string. Think that tells a big story. NeilWatson
Virtually all EL teams have 3 double uppers so nobody there. Six EL teams have 3 DU riders, two have 2, two have 1, and one has none - (GSA Issue 28).

junior fan
Also not good when a NL team Buxton can't find a suitable replacement for a retired rider and have been using R/R tells you there's not a lot coming through.I feel the sport is too expensive for most people to venture into, the prices of parts are way over the top , engine rebuilds etc. Junior

Baldyman
It's a maximum of 15 a point anyway, but some clubs pay a bit of travel and will pay for your tire and oil.

Baldyman
Sorry, I thought it was 15 max. Like I said though, they will be paid in other ways. So you think Boxall`s riding for £15 a point do you ?? probably, but paid other stuff that's not points money. If there is a maximum points money then there is a maximum points money, but nothing to say they couldn't be paid another 2 maybe 3 hundred attendance money or sponsorship money per meeting. I'm sure they all have different ways of having their money made up. Maybe I'm only talking about a rider I know Edited August 9, 2013 by Baldyman
