Somerset V Plymouth Pl 9/8/13 @ 7:30pm

Should, emphasis on the should, be a closer match than the last 2 have been. For Plymouth, Mikkel Bech and Rasmus Jensen are 2 rising stars who's styles should suit the OTA track. New signing Hynek Stichauer hasn't rode in England for a few years now but in that time he could have improved. But what's going to make this match interesting now is that Kurtz is back at reserve. Real shame about Cory not being there as its always a pleasure watching him at the OTA. In saying all of that though, if the Rebels can gate like they did last night and the track is as good as it was then it might just be a little bit easy again.

'Sticky' in for Nielsen it appears, with the dreaded r/r for Cory. Bech should be exciting to watch, and Kurtz at reserve may do some damage, but I fancy the rest of the Devils may get blown away by the in-form powerhouse Rebel top 5. The Devils have been tricky opponents for us already in the League Cup earlier this season, but I really can't see anything but a convincing Rebel victory this time, by 20 or more perhaps.

The real test will be at the SBA on Saturday. We're one of only 4 teams to have lost there this season, and we've managed it twice!! Let's hope we can put that right and take 6 or even 7 points over the weekend.

Too many if's and but's with the Devils side to trouble the Rebels they seem to change their lineup every 5 minutes. This is probably the best opportunity for the Rebels to win home and away as they are on fire at the moment and the Devils have an unsettled lineup and are very inconsistent. Just need to finish in the top six to qualify for play offs. So sixth place will do and then the real business starts.

Great to see Somerset so heavily featured in this weeks Star. Apart from the match report there are write ups on Simon Lambert, Bill Hancocks birthday party, Last weeks high profile guests Mark Loram and Mike Broadbanks and even a photo of the Rebels Rooster on letters page. This Fridays match too difficult to call and depends on how the two newcomers perform, Stichauer scored 7+1 on his first visit to the Oak Tree in 2011. Also depends on how R/R performs and Kurtz could be a danger at reserve with 7 rides.

I certainly wouldn't expect any complacency from the Rebels in both meetings,. if Simon Lambert attains his average that all you can ask from him, that said, i would certainly expect 6 points from the 2 meetings. Plymouth is a bit like Arena Essex, and we all know what you have to do their!!!!

Interesting meetings. Carefully put rebels as the undertone is an easy win for rebels with an air of caution. Devils are stronger now at reserve which could be key. A lot could depend on Sticky, if he hits the ground running this meeting could be closer than we think......If U21 championship called off due to bad weather can Mikkel still ride for Devils?

Bech,Jensen have never seen the OTA, Lemo is going backwards these days, and I don`t rate Sticky. It should be a thumping win for the Rebels tonight, any thing less will be a disaster. We have put on some pretty impressive performances against very good sides this year when we have really been up against it,can`t really see the Devils getting near us.

Kurtz at reserve is a real threat surely?! Undoubtedly he will take 6/7 rides.

How?, The reserves race maybe, and he will nick a few thirds, but can you see him troubling Doyle, Morris , Josh and Alex on current form around our place, not forgetting Kyle is also going well at the moment. He will almost certainly get seven rides one way or another. Heat 8 may be awkward, it depends on what position Cory`s R/R will be covering. I see from the green sheet averages only Lemo can take a ride for R/R ,so Bech will only get five rides. Six starts for Lemo may be too much.

Looking forward to seeing Bech and Jensen around the OTA but like Cliffe said, this should be comfortable with the Rebels taking the win by 15 points or so.

The form of our top 4 is immaculate at the moment, this should be a mere warm up for tomorrows meeting which is far more important.

Doyle 15 last night for the Brummies, Nick paid 9, and Josh`s last 4 Prem matches (including a guest for Rye ) 15,14,15 14........happy days for the Rebels at the moment.

And keep crossing those fingers mate. Garry is a real nice bloke and shaping up out to be a very good team manager, learn't his trade with the buccaneers at Poole, now has a real good team assembled at the OTA. He deserves to go a heat 15 better!!!! :t:

Rampant Rebels carried on where they left off on Tuesday, Nick and Alex are proving a 5-1 machine and Doyle back to his best after sorting out his electrical problems. For the third match in a row, I have to say that Simon Lambert was worth much more than his 2 points. For the Devils, Bech looks an entertainer and Jensen could prove useful, but expected more from Todd Kurts who is possibly still feeling his injury. R/R got the Devils 7 points so probably no less than Gathercole would have scored. There was a huge crowd inflated by the Plymouth supporters and consequently it created a good atmosphere as did the frolics of the Rebels Rooster and the Plymouth Devil on the centre green. It was good to see that with 3 meetings in 8 days crowds were better than average for all three matches, obviously proof that the recession must nearly be over. One of the new attractions at the Oak Tree now days is what new high tech gadget will Dave T have next week.
