phillipsr
Went tonight for the 1st time this year and if im honest despite the meeting and racing being close i doubt ill make a return. Speedway is terrible value for money. Its stuck in a timewarp and i can see why it doesnt attract a younger generation. I was a a regular up until the middle of last year but it really is missing some energy
BossMan
Not the greatest of meetings and really not sure why Leicester allowed Alex E to take 3 rides? It was obvious to everyone that he was struggling with his recent injuries and never did more than half a lap. Heat 11 was interesting; Mellgren falls on his own, Leicester are on a 8-1 with the tactical ride, the old boy on the 4th bend decides to show a red flag to Gravesen who slows and puts his hand up, Aspgren then overtakes him for 2nd place and the ref does nowt about it? With the close score at the end that alone could have made a big difference. Nice to see that after Shadders complaints, the hole in the car park has been filled in. I was a a regular up until the middle of last year but it really is missing some energy If money is tight then you're probably better off finding another pastime. Unfortunately, those of us with the speedway bug will be there week in week out, home and away Not sure if I'm pleased or not with a couple of points tonight. With an obviously unfit Olly Allen and a NL guest at 4. The Leicester fans on the first bend were extatic to the point of orgasm with their point. Not a lot of passing on a quick track, but enough close races to keep it interesting. A farcical heat 11 swung the meeting Leicester's way, but the referee got all his decisions spot on tonight. Nice to see that after Shadders complaints, the hole in the car park has been filled in. Two weeks too late

Obviously I wasn't there but reading BossMan's post it sounds very dodgy.

Shadders
Not a case of money being tight just want value for my money dont think its to much to as for £18 a go. Do you apply that philosophy to everything? Life's too short to be worrying about stuff like that.
robert72
I agree, speedway is a £10 sport,it's not worth anymore, you have to look back a few decades to when speedway was value for money

Mimmo
I have no complaints about the quality of the racing last night, in fact I thoroughly enjoyed it. What a stupid thing for Mick Bates to say about looking for lights not flags, if that is true. What other reason are the flags there for??? As 'BossMan' said, Leicester were on an 8-1 and looked as though they were going to hold onto it, yes a very unprofessional decision by the referee. My only gripe, although I can't really complain, because I chose to make the long return journey, was the over the top admission price to get in, but then I knew that before I went, and as somebody else has said, you can't take it with you, so you might as well spend it. I was impressed with the speed at which we got through proceedings last night, and of course for Len having that car park hole filled at long last. Good luck to both sides at Leicester tonight. westhamboy66
You can't have eight refs out there so the flags are raised when the ref puts the red lights on they are meant as an extra aid. Race should have been re run anyway as the kick board was dislodged so could have been a 5-3 instead of a 7-2.
waco
Pontus Aspgren is proving the signing of the season taking 7 rides, for paid 18,, one off Ben Morley guesting in the main body of the team who was unlucky to lose his ride in heat 14,, having scored a solid 5+1 from his 3 rides ...Ollie Allen needed the meeting to get dialled back in ,looked a bit all at sea early on, but improved with a late win.... Melgren was a bit up and down,, Nelson was Nelson,, Lykke was Lykke ,,never sure what your going to get from one race to the next..Bunyan was solid as usual..We held on in a half decent meeting against a determined Leicester side with good performances from Jorgenson,,Doolan,,Karlsson and Graversen.... and great verbal support from their travelling fans,,. Race should have been re run anyway as the kick board was dislodged so could have been a 5-3 instead of a 7-2. It used to be the norm to stop a race when a kick board was dislodged, but this year that practice seems to have stopped. Noticed it a couple of times at least this year. Only Jason, Pontus and Ben can be pleased with last nights efforts. Olly clearly needs more time to recover and Kasper still losing points through his inability to gate. Off night for Anders, but I'm sure he'll make amends today at Leicester. Interesting to hear announced that Jason G plans a return next week. I'll believe it when I see it. If/when he does return he'll be at reserve. Heard a whisper that next years proposed points limit will be below 40 points. Could leave us in a pretty strong position with the line up I have in mind. Nice to see a decent crowd, swelled by a good Leicester following. Car park was pretty full an hour before the start time.
Howyadoinoutthere
I see on the BSPA site that: LEICESTER co-promoter Alan Jones admitted injuries to skipper Kauko Nieminen during the meeting and reserve Alex Edberg at Rye House the previous evening contributed to a surprise home defeat for the Lions against the Rockets. I'd be interested to learn how Alex Edberg was injured at Rye House - I can only think that it must have been a turbulence related injury from the other 3 riders?
