tocha
I suppose the reason behind all this is stop teams manipulating the rules This has never stopped Poole!
TMW
It's not like the 'good old days' when an injured rider was replaced by a reserve from the side and a second-half rider was give a chance to take the reserve's place. That sounds like a plan . That happens in the NL but is the PL a step up too far?.
Shadders
Does seem bizarre to name him at #5. Puts a lot of pressure on the reserves, who will be paired in three rides with Morley, and Heat 13 too, which is either his final throw-away third ride (thus pressurizing the #1) or puts more responsiblity on the reserve in that race. Heat 7: (Morley, Lykke, Nieminen, Doolan) looks particularly dodgy as does heat 11 (Morely, Lykke, Wells, Graversen). I'd put Nelson at 5 and pair Ben Morely with Mellgren at 4. If Ben has a mare, then Pontus Aspgren can take heat 14 with Kasper Lykke (pronounced Luger in a Danish meeting on Tuesday). Hopefully Ben will repeat his form against Glasgow/Sheffield, bit it's gonna be a lot more difficult for him in the main body of the side. Due to a commitment elsewhere during the day, I've got to leave home at 9.00am, and I'm not one of these modern jack the lads with an Ipad or Iphone.......to thick to understand how to use them!! We know what Ricky Wells is capable of It's not like the 'good old days' when an injured rider was replaced by a reserve from the side and a second-half rider was give a chance to take the reserve's place. Times have changed since the days of one bike per rider on the back of a car, plus a track spare. Equipment prices have shot up over the past 20 years or so. Speedway is a very expensive hobby unless you have sponsorship. Young riders trying to make it in what is now no longer a hobby, but a professional sport have it a lot tougher... You can't compare speedway today to that from the "good old days" Edited August 9, 2013 by Shadders

lionheart
I can't really see the Lions getting much from this. I think they will be lucky to get within 15 of the Rockets :-(
