Super Blue
Josh Bates would be a good choice as a guest on Saturday given Adams absence of being in the Under 21 at Berwick . Upon reflection , not sure if his average would fit now ??? If it doesn't , who do we think might come in ? dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
This is where we need to get the rules right. For the No7 it is a NL 6 pointer as far as I am aware. I dont know if that is different due to it being an international event. We dont want to do a Kings Lynn!
2ndbendbeerhut
rule 18.1.2.4 When the ACU nominate an ACU licensed Rider to an FIM Speedway Championship, or is selected to ride Speedway for Team GB, GB U21, then irrespective of the Rider’s MA a choice of Guest or Rider Replacement facility is available. but 18.2.2 In the Premier League e) Absent #7: NL G* : a Rider eligible for a NL Team who has never achieved an actual PL MA of 4.00 or above So could read it that 18.1.2.4 takes preference, so any guest under the missing rider (Ellis 4.00) or as he is at #7 then 18.2.2 applies...... Then you have to consider if the NL rider is allowed to guest as either a guest or PL only guest. eg have they achieved 4.00 in PL or are they in a PL 1-7. Both would not allow them to by a guest for a number #7 in a PL team. the BSPA's own declarations list has failed to list Nielsen and Kerr as in a PL's 1-7, whereas Branford is still listed in one!? Confused yet? Edited August 5, 2013 by 2ndbendbeerhut

Bash
Lewis Blackbird is guesting in place of Adam Saturday, on Official Ipswich Website.

Super Blue
Will Ritchie win his first race as a Witch ? That's the question . Blackbird not too bad a choice as guest , has been in some decent form this year but not exactly renowned for his scoring at Foxhall . We will have to wait and see . Note , I didn't start this thread it was split away from the main Ipswich one by the mods . Big brother is still watching us !
Baldyman
Is Lewis the best we could have got? If the answer is yes then I'm happy with that choice.
Bash
Depending what rule they are using, if a guest is allowed the choices were:- Chris Schramm Joe Jacobs Joey Ringwood Paul Starke Mitchell Davey Ryan Douglas Lewis Blackbird Damian Koppe Chris Mills Out of these maybe Mills, Schramm or even Douglas the way he finished the meeting the other week would probably be the choice. Had a feeling it would be Blackbird tho! Edited August 7, 2013 by Bash
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Mills and Schramm have both averaged above 4 at PL level previously and Douglas is not NL elligible which (I think!) makes them all inelligible. As clear as mud!
Baldyman
In that case, Lewis and stark are the best options, so we did okay.

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
But if you go by this rule any of them would be eligible, but who knows as posters have said as clear as mud!!!! That rule I believe covers 2-5 in the team. So if Adam was at 2 we could chose a guest when normally only available for a missing no1 or if two riders missing. The reserves are always a guest but have different rules for who can come in for each position! Ive never understood why a No7 should be treated any differently but hey ho! 2ndbendbeerhut
Pete Simmons has said that they are using 18.1.2.4 so a guest to his ave is ok, the same rule was used for Howarth against Ipswich on the 29/

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
according to the line up on web site, neither is Lewis , Ritchie at No 7 those cunning rule makers didnt plan for the genius that is the Witches eh!! Pete Simmons has said that they are using 18.1.2.4 so a guest to his ave is ok, the same rule was used for Howarth against Ipswich on the 29/6 I think Lewis fits within both rules anyway

2ndbendbeerhut
I did query that with Adam being 7th in the averages was Blackbird still allowed but nothing back. Probably same as when Barker and Lanham missing for British Final qualifiers, we were allowed a guest for both. Prehaps 1.18.2.4 "trumps" all other rules? or by using Blackbird another team will object, his points get deducted and the Witches miss the play offs. All because the "powers at be" will not listen to the fans and especially despise the BSF so much as we are all "no nothing keyboard warriors!" Super Blue
Remember that the SCB changes rules mid season as they see fit depending on their mood , agenda or wether it's the wrong time of the month or even if there's a full moon or not ! One hopes its all been fully checked out and sanctioned .
