Halifaxtiger
Sorry to be pedantic but you can't be semi- impartial... My apologies on the Mike Lee quote I missed the quotation marks. Again you would agree with Lee as you are a Mildenhall supporter. I'm not going to get into an argument with you as last time I did all your mates chipped in (No pun intended) when we discussed BV being your most hated track and you happened to be there as the visiting team managers's guest. Isn't Moustache Adam's dad and Rum old bird his mum? 'Poor' and 'downright dangerous' Maybe the same to you but you need to research the meaning of the 2 terms and if anything will spoil Dean Felton's attempts at raising for a fence then it is going to be reviews like yesterday then there will be no Buxton then you might be happy. I'm sure Jayne will take it on the chin as she usually does. !!!!!!!! Don't ever let ignorance stop you posting, will you ? I am not a Mildenhall supporter (I would have thought the fact that I have been there twice this season would make that clear), nor is Rum Old Bird Adam's mum. I am struggling to see where I said that the track was 'downright dangerous' or make the connection between Buxton's track and me being a team manager's guest at Belle Vue. I was there yesterday, you weren't. Enough said, I think. Its the last bit that really sticks in my craw, though. If a track closes down because of bad reviews from a fan, its entirely the fault of the fan and absolutely no responsibility of the promotion concerned whether that review is entirely accurate or not. That's the kind of ridiculous nonsense pumped out by some members of the BSPA and a few of their closest supporters - take what you are given, be grateful for it and don't complain when the product is crap . To me, its that kind of arrogant, condescending attitude that has contributed to the sport in this country being on its knees. I haven't got the money to fund a track or a team so I can't comment on how promoters run their business. I'd like to think they run it as well as they can and work with what they've got in the most effective way possible and on that they are struggling. If they aren't then it's only them to blame if it fails
Rapidroscoe
After being at the meeting yesterday I would not say the track was dangerous but it was definitely a case of riding with your head rather than full throttle asda vid mason and Ben Morley showed. It's also interesting to see that boxall withdrew yesterday after a black and white double win, but then went through the card today at Kent, his suspected injury obvious wasn't that bad! It's a shame to think people have a preconception of a track which generally produces an interesting meeting like the week before against Dudley

Halifaxtiger
It's a shame to think people have a preconception of a track I agree and am certainly not like that. Partly due to fact that it is comparatively close to my home over the last few seasons I have been there more than most and usually like going there. It simply isn't true that the track is always dreadful, but it has been in the past and was on Sunday.
bradtony
I wonder after all the mud slinging could we the speedway fans ask what the referee was doing in all this surly he passed the track as fit to ride .Brings up some interesting questions.

I think you are dead right. If water isn't in the shale it won't bind properly and you get dust, stones and blue lines. The week after the Mildenhall match (see above) Hackney were at Hi Edge and, as I sponsored Barrie Evans at the time, I went. About an hour before the start there was a short but heavy shower and the track that day was the best I have ever seen it (if memory serves me correctly Paul Starke said the same thing). T C Racing
bw double, getting covered in shale is part and parcel of the game, you not been to a speedway meet unless you got shale dust everywhere. As you're supposedly a Hitmen fan, by staying away because you get the car and yourself dirty, teams like Buxton are always going to struggle financially, ok it may only be two admission prices but at the end of the day they need every penny they get in order to survive, obviously with that sort of attitude you not really bothered if they survive or not........... rant over
Shadders
I've seen a close up photograph of part of the track showing a rock sticking out of it... That ain't normal surely?

Getting covered in shale dust is not 'part and parcel' of the game. I went to three matches last weekend and at only one was that the case. Exceptional weather conditions can lead to dust at the best prepared circuits but that wasn't the case on Sunday. When a track is awful the actual people you should be questioning about whether they are bothered if a track survives or not is the promotion, because they are doing nothing to attract fans and and a great deal to put the existing ones off. I've seen a close up photograph of part of the track showing a rock sticking out of it... That ain't normal surely? Yes there were rocks sticking up and no, it isn't normal at Buxton. Quite simply, the inside of the track had worn away so much it was down to the base.

If you dont mind me asking where were you standing because I certainly did not get covered & our van did not need to be washed
Halifaxtiger
To be fair, it does make a great deal of difference where you stand. I was the 1st/2nd bend and got the full impact of the dust. I doubt if there was any of the 3rd/4th bend.
